Over the summer, either AT&T made a deal with Sam's for them to go exclusively AT&T or Verizon left on their own (a la Target Mobile) and T-Mobile pulled Sprint out of Sam's Club.

Already you can see their promos get smaller, only $250 Sam's GC for AT&T iPhone 12 upgrade this year for their one-day sale. The last time the gift card was this small, Sprint/Verizon had $300 on XS and AT&T had $250 on XS 2 years ago. For the 11 and 11 Pro 1 year ago AT&T matched Sprint/Verizon on the GCs, and this year there's no need to compete anymore because Sprint/Verizon are gone altogether.

Probably but the phone would still be locked to Verizon for 60 days. And depending on how Verizon interprets it's policy, it may refuse to unlock the phone until it's active on its network for at least 60 days.

Was going to wait for a Bogo deal personally. I'll just add a line and use Google voice to put my old number on, so my wife can keep her number. Only deals really are for new customers/lines. Has anyone done something similar? After the 60 day period can I bring my old number back as a primary number? Or use dual sim?

I need to cancel Sam's membership. I only keep to get a new phone with Verizon. Not sure that is going on?

Let your membership expire. The only place to get Verizon deals are Walmart, Best Buy, and maybe Target if they are still selling Verizon.
