6 point are good for busting loose stuck bolts.

You would not use a ratcheting wrench for frozen fasteners, as they need a stronger tool

Since the ratcheting end of these wrenches would commonly be used in hard to access areas, the 12 point would make it much easier to align the wrench.

I can only think of one brand of closed ratcheting wrench that has 6 point available, otherwise they are all 12 point.
Yea, I got the Gearwrench set for $38 on Amazon a couple of weeks ago. For anyone interested, the main difference in those sets is they aren't color coded, don't have the ratchet direction arrow, and I think 1 less degree arc movement. Overall I am pleased with the Gearwrench set, but, might have paid the $12 extra dollars for this set had it been on sale when I bought mine.
I have been watching the prices on these for ages. These were $60 earlier these year and then clearanced to $40. The 'rona hit and Lowe's unclearanced them and jacked them up to $90. Now they're on sale for $10 less than their original price and $20 more than their clearance price. Since I don't have a time machine and was not able to get a set when they were on clearance though, I'm in for 1. Thanks OP.

not bad but the 20pc gearwrench has hit $40 at HD a few times this last few weeks so keep an eye on that set. Also Amazon usually matches the price too

These are more expensive than buying both of the SAE & Metric sets ($15/ea) that are one sale at Advance Auto, but these are 90 tooth vs 72 if I remember right.

Also impressed that the ones you posted have the small sizes. 1/4 and 5/16" would be nice to have for hose clamps, trim screws, etc. TU, OP.

This set has more wrenches, too, if I'm thinking of the same sets

can't they split these? iId pay $25 for a metric set. I don't want to pay $50 for a metric set.

The reviews on Lowes regarding the use of plastic and it breaks off easily is not very convincing. I wonder if GearWrench has better quality.

I've been using the GW set from HD for 2 years. I've been happy with it, no issues with normal use (cars, bikes, small home projects, furniture). I should state that for any real torque applications just use a non ratcheting wrench.

Dang, I don't need SAE. Would just be a waste of space. On principal, don't want to pay for something I don't want.
