You're paying a $200 premium for a Displayport connector compared to the equivalent TV.

amazon review is not that good

for the price, it seems like a good deal, but the response time gtg is 8 ms, is that bad? Also 60 hz refresh rate. will this handle an occasional gaming like GTA V ?

Until HDMI 2.1 trickles down to 43" TVs, DP is the only way to get 4:4:4, 4K @ 60Hz [corrected: at 10-bit color depth.].

This monitor supports Picture By Picture that will enable you to simultaneously present 4 computers as 4 separate and independent 1080p screens. Not very useful for home users, but for traders, network/security operation centers or anywhere else you need to watch up to four independent hd definition video sources at the same time i.e 4 monitor in one. You can also do picture in picture but that is not that useful to me

People used to say that about VGA ports on TVs in the early 2000s....
Yes, you are right. For most people, HDMI 2.0 is very / more than good enough. And future technology will solve today's problems. HDMI 2.1 will probably require a new video card, too, in addition to a new TV.

I have personally tried the 40" TV-as-a-monitor route (Samsung 40MU6290). The color banding given by an 8-bit color depth is annoying. Using an active HDMI > DP adapter does not help, either, as one end of the cable still connects to an HDMI 2.0 port. I do not know of any other way to get 10-bit color depth @ 4K / 4:4:4 / 60Hz on a TV with HDMI 2.0x.

It will all depend on what you intend to do. Playing games, most people don't care about color depth. Arguably, this 43" is not really for playing games.

I discriminate in the quality of picture reproduction. So, it is worth it to me to pay for DP to get 4K / 4:4:4 / 60Hz @ 10-bit color depth.

I got this from the last deal. Compared to a TV, the text clarity is slightly better. But major pros in terms of convenience. This has USB-C port with PD, USB hub, DP and HDMI. The LG software with split-screen works great as well. The speakers on this are decent. Its light enough, due to the stand but you would need a large desk but it does free up space in the middle which for me was useful to keep my wireless charger.

Overall, for me it was worth paying $200 premium over a TV, but may not be for everyone depending on how much these features are worth it to you.

I use the previous version of this display as a productivity monitor with the 4 1080p screen setup and it's stellar for mutlitasking.
