For <$7, this is probably a good deal, to get started with a moka pot. I have a similar cheapy aluminum unit, and I feel like (though it doesn't rust) the oxidizing aluminum does flavour the water a bit.
I'm looking for a good deal on a stainless one with a heavy bottom. Or a better aluminum one that's smooth inside the bottom, so it cleans/dries better. The rough surface inside means it can't be hand-dried, and it takes forever to air-dry, leading to the oxidation.
Also "6 cups" is likely "6 shots" (6-9 oz.?), so you may want to check that.
Hope everyone read reviews because handle melts off after 3 uses in most cases and , some say metal shaving in the coffee with picture proof. Other say only make 10 ounces no where near 6 cups at all, several people say it leaks all.over the stove and is a mess, now just because it's cheap doesn't make it a good thing , but at 6$ if your willing to take the risk it's worth it to some because its cheaper then a trip to Starbucks I guess
I have a cheap moka pot and two comments for those considering:
1) do you REALLY know what kind of metal this is made of? I worry about things leaching into my drink due to high heat, but not worried enough to not use it.
2) the cheap casting of these items are especially bad between the joint threads (between upper and lower chambers) which in turn does not crate a good seal. No seal = not enough heat/pressure to force water upwards.

Stainless steel would be better, but you'll pay 10x this price. The last stainless one I got, still didn't hold up for 1 year...

I'm a bit curious to try this. Only a bit.
forgot to add, I use induction so the whole thing doesn't get burn like using burner.
