I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

That price is totally worth it considering price to size ratio. And also you'll be receiving a 5 year manufactures warranty. A 5 year Geek Squad from Best Buy is about $380. I'm on board 100%

🤣 My last TV (60" Sharp 1080p) from 6 years ago was bought at only $600. I can't believe I'm actually about to buy an 85" for $2k (and it's a hot deal).

I understand where you're coming from though. I was gonna buy a cheap, middle of the road 75" for ~$700 and call it a day, but I figured that'd be $700 wasted because I don't buy TVs very often. My 60" is still good, I just need another for the bedroom (replacing a projector that I can no longer ceiling mount due to change in furniture).

I didn't like X900F 85" that much ans eventually sold it after 2 months. Would this be better than that?

Well, that's annoying. I'll probably wait until tomorrow and contact them again for confirmation of what they told me earlier tonight.

The Costco.com price adjustment policy posted is pretty clear on the point though and doesn't list any exclusions to the price adjustment policy for online orders. The holiday booklet lists the $1969.99 price as available both in warehouse and online.

The below is verbatim from the Costco.com website:

"Price Adjustment - Costco.com Orders
Costco.com will gladly issue a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the promotional price, if your purchase was made online at Costco.com and was within 30 days prior to the change in price. Credits are typically issued within 3-5 business days.
Please note:
  • The special consideration for promotional pricing is for end consumers only. Resellers must purchase the item during the valid promotional dates to receive the promotional price.
  • If you purchased the item at a Costco warehouse location, please inquire at the membership counter at the Costco location where you made the purchase.
  • Costco does not price match with other retailers."

Was able to chat with Costco rep, said they will honor IF you purchase it online. I was told in store only 14 days... weird.

I purchased one about a month ago at Costco. Should I go in and try to have the manager price match or should I return mine the day before the sale and buy a new one. My 90 return window for electronics will still be good if I wait for the Black Friday sale.

Wow, the 85inch with the 7yr warranty on a Costco card is probably the best AV deal I've seen all year.

Damn. I just moved and really want this for my new house... but I can't buy it until I sell my previous home. Any takers? GA is nice this time of year.
