I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

Unfortunately, I've never seen my local Costco's carry the 85", only the 75" and lower.
You might check again. Mine did not carry it until just last week for the 2-day $2569 sale.

I think if you go through the price adjust form it says it won't adjust until item ships (and then credit is 3-5 days with no confirmation), but you might be able to do it through chat... not sure.
Well then i guess ill order another on the 20th, Set the date 2 weeks or so out, if they dont want to match and let it ship, refuse the delivery, or do a return if they insist on delivering it. If they do fix the price, i can cancel the 2nd tv before it ships. Or just cancel the first one if my order goes through on the 20th if its not too late to cancel.

How did you set delivery to the 24th?

After you order and they call you to schedule?

Man...how many people can use this huge 85" TV, much less willing to pay $2k+ (after tax) for a TV during the pandemic?

I thought this wouldn't draw too much attention but some people are already saying it's out of stock (for their zip code I assume)? Hope they were kidding.
Online when you checkout, it had days open up to a month out to schedule

I second that, very buggy. Shut off at least 3 or 4 times a day. WiFi would drop, and won't connect again until the power cable is unplugged. Worked great the first month, it started having problems a week ago, Costco will be picking it up this Thursday.
I'll third that. On my 2nd 65 in. First one worked fine for about a week then started requiring daily hard resets (power cord unplug for 2 minutes). Also had top corner vignetting, strobing, contrast, and gradient issues. On 2nd day of second unit with fingers crossed.

The tv's warrantied for 7 years, so you can expect to get at least that long of utility out of it. Using streight line depreciation, with a worst case scenario that this would become defunct the day after the warranty, you're looking at an ownership cost at under $4 a week. If exchange one unnecessary trifle weekly excess like an overpriced coffee or a Big Mac and you could have this instead, along with a few less pounds. Budget and prioritize is the key.

Just ordered mine. The website is glitchy and gave me an OOS message the first time I tried to check out, but then it let me re-add it to my cart and complete order.

I got it for $2469 in early September. So I'll just be keeping this one in the box. Request price adjustment on Nov 20th. Then return the one in the box using original purchase receipt right before 90-day window expires. $500 back in my pocket thanks to Slickdeals!
