I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

The price is good from Nov 20 - 30. Does the item have to be in stock for them to adjust the price?
For Costco to adjust price, the item must be in stock, until the request is reviewed by the team.

Oled has one major downside: burn in.

Most previous owners say they have some form of burn in within 2 years. It depends on usage but that's pretty bad.

I've had burn in experience with 2 plasma TVs back when they were the rage. I love Oled TVs but I'm skipping them until the burn in issue is resolved. It gets better every generation but still a big problem. On the flip side, LG Oled TVs are really well-built. I love that screen thickness and metal build of the screen. Very premium.

In any case, I'd like to keep my $2k TV for more than 2 years.

I spent the last few days researching the heck out of current TVs (and some past ones) and the 900H is one of the best TVs (and the best value) out there.

Other good options are Samsung RU9000 ($1k on Costco BF ad for 75"), TCL 6 series 75", and Hisense H8G. Sony 950H is a step up from 900H (the non costco version of TV in this thread), has wider viewing angles and a few minor advantages but it's less bright while being about $300-400 more.
950h is less bright than the 900h? I thought it was the other way around....?

Check my post history, I've been saying for a while now that 4K set prices will drop big this holiday season, and many still jumped the gun on deals over the past month.

This is only the beginning. It will be a race to the bottom between Samsung, Vizio, Sony, and LG.
Since you have knowledge, think the 950h will drop any further?

You technically are not able to price adjust Black Friday deals. They make you return and buy a new one(not your return, you cannot).

I spoke with a manager, however, and they are going to get back with me on if they can accommodate. Will update.

Really had my sights set on the 85" 950H since I'm not huge into gaming and would use it more for movies and sports but this price is super hard to pass up.

Any guesses as to what the 950Hs will be going for on Greentoe Nov20-30? $2500 please?

I know Costco is the way to go over Greentoe but Costco apparently doesn't carry the 950H.
I've been looking for both 75 and 85" in the 950h....when priced dropped at all major retailers last weekend and currently, I thought the greentoe prices and counter offers would also drop (since the price decrease comes from sony). But the 75 did not drop at all and the 85" only dropped $50

Thanks for the awesome answer. In all seriousness, do you have specific knowledge that the 950 will drop in price, or just assuming it as we get closer?

This TV is very buggy. I ended up returning 2 units because of buggy software, wifi, random shutoffs on both tvs.
When was your original purchase?

Do you still own a Sony x900h / x90ch ?

If you do, has it been stable?

I'm asking these questions, because I'm wondering if perhaps firmware updates fixed these issues.

Agreed. But my comment was the scenario of if it runs out of stock before they make the adjustment
Then I may return anyways being that Superbowl time generally sees tv prices just as low if notm lower than bf.worth it for 650

Just ordered mine. The website is glitchy and gave me an OOS message the first time I tried to check out, but then it let me re-add it to my cart and complete order.

I got it for $2469 in early September. So I'll just be keeping this one in the box. Request price adjustment on Nov 20th. Then return the one in the box using original purchase receipt right before 90-day window expires. $500 back in my pocket thanks to Slickdeals!
For electronics, most retailers keep track of the serial # on each purchase. And if you try to return a unit that is not the original serial number, they will not accept it.

Just buy a second one at the beginning and set the date out. If they want to go the long route, just have them pick up the first one. If they adjust, cancel the second order.

I just spoke with the manager at my local Costco, which carries this tv. She at first said Black Friday deals can not be price matched (return rebuy as others have said). However she then pulled out the Holiday ad itself from behind the counter and started looking at the top of each page and said "nowhere does it say I can not price match on November 20 so yes we will price match". She gave me her name and said come back on the 20th and to buy the tv today.
I am curious if past years ad's have said in the print at the top that price matching is excluded?
