Above quote but fixed in red. Definitely follow. I have one on order with Greentoe and don't have immediate plans to game but this is huge if it is an unfixable issue. We're talking major feature flaw and potential class action.
Deal breaker for me. Good catch. Was going to buy this for next-gen console gaming. I would have been extremely Mad if I were stuck with this flaw and Sony's response was 'we meant for it to be that way'. Good luck to those hoping for a FW fix if Sony's response is 'we did it on purpose'.

I used to work for Bestbuy, and if I remember correctly we do accept returns till the end of holiday return windows. However, I do advise you to chat or call them to be sure. Bestbuy is notoriously difficult to return when it comes to TV.

You can get a Costco membership for about $50, which I do recommend. Buying with Costco will give you 5 years warranty, despite what it says on the box. It will be better if you have the Costco Citi card, which will give you an extra 2 years.
Thanks! I did an online chat with bestbuy and they confirmed we could return the tv in the holiday return window. Any risk that this TV will be out of stock from costco and ill miss out on the sale? I have half a mind to get this tv boxed up and sent back to bestbuy just in case since im still within the default 14 day return window but would hate to not get the 85" version on the 20th

Any written information on that anywhere? The official Costco.com Price Adjustment page doesn't list any exclusions from the 30 day adjustment policy for promotional prices from time of online order. Could this behave differently online vs in-store? it's listed as policy for costco.com orders.
I send them an email and they said that on the website they will do a price adjustment but not in stores.

I spoke with membership in-store last night before I decided to not buy the tv and they told me that they would do a price adjustment on 20 Nov. All I would need is to bring in my receipt.

So they are price matching and if you just bought the Sony and it's $200 cheaper on the 20th you just need to show your receipt for the difference? I thought about waiting but was afraid we wouldn't get one on the 20th. We joined Costco just for this TV cause of the 5 year warranty box may say 3 but it's 5 years now. We are refinancing our house or we would of gotten the credit card from Costco for the extra 2 years and cash back.

Yes. I specifically asked about Black Friday or Holiday Sales and her specific words were "Special sales don't matter. Just bring the receipt in and we'll give you a price adjustment as longs as it is within 30 days."

Love my 75" Vizio PQX I got for $1500. But geez, $2000 for 85", gives me a pang of buyers remorse, even if the PQ isn't quite as good. Good luck to all that you get this TV! Smilie

Yes definitely stay away from this tv if you plan on gaming or using it as a PC monitor. First HDMI 2.1 firmware has been a disaster. Don't bother trying to use it with your new 3080/3090. Sony's response to the issue was ridiculous.

Is it in the holiday savings flyer? A Costco customer service rep just told me that they will NOT be doing price adjustments on holiday savings prices.
The price adjustment policy is different between online and in-store.
There have been numerous reports from people who chatted with costco reps online and they have said they will match. No one can be 100% sure until the time comes.

I just ordered online and set delivery for after 11/20. I figure I can just order again on 11/20. Then I can choose between cancelling the original or trying to price match and canceling the new order. Eitherway, I have some insurance in case of limited stock issues.

I agree the response they have given thus far is ridiculous but it is far too early to make any conclusions. It could have just been a mis-informed rep or they haven't even formulated their real response so we're getting made up responses.
Anyways, this issue seems to only affect users who need 120hz. If you are gaming or using it as a monitor for a PC at 60hz, there is still no issue. So the TV is still plenty usable. It's not like there is another alternative at this price and size that is remotely close in quality..

Hmm. Does anyone have experience with 850G and this x90ch and comment on any difference in picture quality?

I am still in 90 day return window for 850G (for another week or so) and am wondering whether this may be worth $600 more to upgrade to. HDMI 2.1 does not really interest me much though.

I am GENERALLY happy with 850G, BUT wifi is terrible (I was never able to connect it to my wifi network even though EVERYTHING else will connect just fine), I do have it wired so it isn't an issue at the moment though.

Thanks.

same boat return window till nov 8th for 850G , using wired connection for better streaming. plan to start return process and get 90Ch for additional 500 we get Full array local display feature and future proof for couple of years. still debating getting it in store and price matching on 20th or wait for stock online.

My 850g had a lot of blooming that I tried to live with, but ended up getting a 90ch and the blooming is gone. The black really stands out in the 90ch compared to my 850g. I can't speak to wifi because I used ethernet on both. Besides the HDMI 2.1 you mentioned, you also get ATSC 3.0 which may be useful to you.

I assume there will be a boxing day sale for Canada, and will the 30 day price match still apply?
