If by useless you mean the best 4k TV under 2k then ok. It's WAY better than the Samsung8000 or the LG8500. Specs are much closer to a $3000tv than the similar priced TV's I mentioned above.

This is what happens when they currently don't have any stock of that item. It will be back up when they have more to sell.

On November 20th to 30th. 85" Sony led for $1969. I just got in on the 75 inch deal and considering of returning and getting this 85 considering the price to size ratio.
Do you know how the return for 75 inches TV from costco work? Do we have to put the TV back in box and Costco will pickup?

I bought a Samsung Q70R on clearance at Costco for $2200 in September. Model number qn82q7dra

Does anyone have any thoughts comparing the two sets? Should I pick this one up and return the q70r?

Thanks in advance.

Just a heads up for those planning on using this tv with next gen gaming consoles. It appears 4k@120hz is broke and they don't plan on fixing it.

Some states they had luck with 2 months.. but it's really up to the store manager to decide, would help if you have multiple Costco's nearby. If not purchase another TV in store and return it with the old receipt
Thanks - do you know if I bought online if I go to the store for the price guarantee, or do I need to call/submit online for an online order?

It's too early to know. Only a few top of the line video cards ($600+) can actually do 4k@120hz and compatibility is a crap shoot right now. Hdmi 2.1 implementation is bad across the board. It's too new. Sony will release more firmwares in the future but I'm only looking forward to gaming at 4k120 on consoles. My pc isn't anywhere close to my TV (I have 32" monitor for pc gaming).

To me, the x900h is the best bang for the buck out there, even considering the 4k120 issues. Tbh, if this issue causes Sony to drop prices further or give owners some refund/credit, I think it will be a boon for most people. Most ppl don't care about 4k120hz gaming on PC. I'm an avid gamer who game on both consoles + pc (getting both next gen consoles too), but even I don't care.

Something most people don't talk about is that this is an android TV with one of the fastest media processors out there. This means you can run a ton of Android apps at the fastest speed available, including local media streamers. I watch tons of local and subtitled contents so having multiple apps to do this is awesome. Don't forget Android games and other stuff.

Having 2 hdmi 2.1 ports is great. Ps5 + xbx series x. I'd like 1 more so I can have an eARC port for my AVR (maybe a future hdmi 2.1 AVR) but eh.

LG CX is a strong consideration but burn in and lower brightness keep me away. That and the $850 price difference (for 65").

Now I just need Costco to put the 65" back to its previous sale price of $969. They're dropping prices of both 85 and 75" on the 20th so why the heck not do the 65" too?
If you can fit the 85" in your intended room, then this is probably the best TV deal this BF season. My living room furniture isn't deep enough to fit the that monster (nor the 75") so I have to settle for 65. I uploaded a visualized comparison between the 65" vs 85" overlayed on my current setup (60" 1080p TV). Both sizes are a bit exaggerated but you it gives you a good idea of how large the 85" is. I measured the 65" and it fits perfectly between my 2 speakers. I can go to 75" but I'd have to lose my KEF Q150 speakers and use aftermarket stands. No soundbar can compare to the Q150s but it would look clean. Maybe a 7.1.4 soundbar system might convince me to switch.
Btw, this is from the Amazon sizing app. It's pretty cool.

Bestbuy has the 65" on BF for $999 but Costco has 7yr warranty + 4% cash back.

Yes definitely stay away from this tv if you plan on gaming or using it as a PC monitor. First HDMI 2.1 firmware has been a disaster. Don't bother trying to use it with your new 3080/3090. Sony's response to the issue was ridiculous.
According to CNET, as of 10/24/20, Sony is rolling out the firmware update now that fixes the 4K/120Hz compatibility: https://www.cnet.com/news/best-tv...t-and-vrr/

Pretty sure they are referring to the update that has already been released that added 4k 120hz support. Interesting however they said it's the update for ability to accept the 4k 120hz signal. Which confirms what we thought that the tv can accept the signal just not display it properly.

If you buy it online you will have to do online adjustment. They're in two systems supposedly
