I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Hah. I also got the 75" on the 1570 sale. Wife saw me looking at this and gave me a hard no.

This product is no longer showing on Costco's website for me. Have they temporarily pulled this until the promotion or will this be in store only?

I looked at the TV in the store today and I definitely can't fit the box in my vehicle.
It was no longer showing on the website for the past few days but showed up again this morning. I recommend checking periodically for it to come back in stock for online delivery.

Back out of stock while I was chatting with the agent to be sure sure that they will adjust. They will. I saved the transcript. Now I just have to see if it comes in stock again.

It seems like it goes in and out of the website depending upon how quickly it gets ordered and the inventory gets depleted. With the promotion being official in 10 days, they should have sufficient stock at that time to fulfill orders. It seems like if you buy it in store, it's cash and carry, so you'll need to have someone with a pickup truck or rent a van from U-Haul or Home Depot. You can also just buy it online and get free delivery. It was reported earlier in the thread that someone could not get free delivery online. I have to infer it was because they live in a rural area that was outside the delivery parameters.

On a related note...I also purchased a washer & dryer from Costco over a week ago and it was just delivered today. Several days ago I saw that the price had dropped and used the online form for a price adjustment. It gave me a reference # but no email confirmation. As of right now, my Costco Citi card has not been credited the difference yet. Does anyone know how long these price adjustment requests usually take to process?

If I remember correctly its 3 - 5 business days. I just got one the other day on a monitor I had purchased.

Thanks for the reply. In fact, I do vaguely remember it stating something like that when I submitted the request, but forgot to write it down. But also I was looking for some anecdotal accounts from others as to how long they've typically seen it take.

Some folks asked for wall mount recommendations for this TV and I meant to reply earlier. I ordered the Kanto FMX3 mount from Costco, which is selling for the hefty sum of $129.99 (not on sale) based on the recommendations from a few people in the AVS forum thread dedicated to this TV. The mount arrived today (TV is due to arrive tomorrow) and it's quite heavy. Per Costco's website it weighs 32.6 lbs.

I had read some criticisms of the other two mounts (one from Sanus) that Costco sells that they went off-level when extended.

I'll try to remember to post back regarding my experiences with it after I install it and get the TV on it.

Debatng on picking this up or the 82 inch samsung ru9000? Is this sony worth the extra $500? Seems this post is getting much more attention then the samsung one. Some insight would be nice. Trying to decide between the 2. Thanks!

I think the best way to figure that out is to go to the store and see for yourself. People will caution you that a certain TV is subpar, but seeing it in person it might be perfectly fine by your standards.

Something to consider if you're a gamer is that this one (Sony) has HDMI 2.1, which lets you take advantage of 4k @ 120 titles on the new consoles.

Wish I could say the same. They brought it into the front door and were like this is the most we will do. You must have gotten the wrong impression. I showed them the white glove conditions and they said no. Called Costco and they refunded me $20. Not a huge deal but was a little bummed about the situation.
The problem with big box deliveries, is that they use local subcontractors to perform the last leg of the delivery.
I had my TV delivered by a pair that reminded me of the Three Stooges.

Best Buy has the RU8000 on display and that will be extremely close. I went with the Sony. The picture quality is better/brighter which is much better for HDR. HDMI 2.1, AndroidOS and the extra size are other aspects. The RU9000 is still a great TV but for me it was a no-brainer. I have a 65" RU9000 downstairs though and didn't want two of the same basically.

Go to RTings and research for yourself to see what you think you'd prefer.
