I am a Civil Engineer and I did the math for you:

$1970 85" version cost 63.8 cents per square inch of screen
$1599 75" version cost 66.5 cents per square inch of screen
$970 65" version cost 53.7 cents per square inch of screen

Therefore, the 75" version is the worst choice and actually cost more than the 85" version when looking at cost per square inch of screen

Links

Direct Link to purchase TV: https://www.costco.com/sony-85%22...57292.html (goes in and out of stock).
Rtings.com review: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews/sony/x900h (IMHO one of the best LED TV's out there)

Costco.com VS Costco Warehouses (physical stores)

Costco.com vs Costco Warehouses (physical stores) act as 2 different business units and will not price match if bought from the "other" store.

Costco.com

Costco.com Price Adjustment Page: https://customerservice.costco.co...l/a_id/628
30-day Price Adjustment
Multiple people have chatted/talked with customer support and have posted proof that orders will be price adjusted.
Multiple Costco.com orders even have the price adjustment already issued.
Free shipping

Costco Warehouses

Price adjustment seems to depend on the associate/store manager so YMMV.
The carton is a beast and DON'T LAY TV FLAT when transporting.

4K 120HZ Blur Issue

(11/13) Sony has acknowledged the blur issue and promised to address it: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254079
Here is the Sony support page: https://www.sony.com/electronics/...s/00254078

Hope this helps!

Debatng on picking this up or the 82 inch samsung ru9000? Is this sony worth the extra $500? Seems this post is getting much more attention then the samsung one. Some insight would be nice. Trying to decide between the 2. Thanks!
Let's be honest, the RU9000 is a budget led TV. Don't get fooled by the crystal led advertising. It's edge lit vs full array local dimming (fald) in the 900h. Sonys algorithm for fald is best in class. If you're a heavy movie watcher, you will appreciate the advantages in dark scenes and HDR content on the Sony. Also the upscaling of non-4k content will be better due to Sonys processor.

Forget about hdmi2.1. Who knows if Sony will get it right for this generation of tvs. They're having known issues with it on the 900h. It's 1st generation hardware so there is bound to be growing pains and compatibility issues.

I got a $30 mount from amazon that holds up to 150lbs and 90inches. Never had any problems with the amazon mounts. Why are people spending $100 on a mount

This one goes on sale for less than $40, should be able to mount with no issues although it says 80inch.

I assume yours is a fixed or adjustable tilt? Some people here want full motion which makes it more expensive

I wanna know this too!

According to RTINGS, the Sony is rated 8.0 for mixed usage, while the Samsung is only a 7.4. Here is a link for the full comparison. Rtings lets you do a comparison with any two televisions, it's a fantastic tool. https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...eshold=0.1

Mine should be arriving within the next couple of hours. Probably a dumb question, but does anyone have any tips/gotchas related to getting it out of the box and installing the bracket for the wall mount I bought? I'm assuming that the stand is not pre-mounted and that it will advise me to lay it down flat on a blanket. Curious also if there's a "right" or "wrong" way to get it out of the box, especially given how heavy it is.

Install the legs for the tv first. The the bracket on the backside. Then the wall mount. It would be helpful if you have three people, while two of you lift the tv up, the third person removed the legs and so you can mount it to the wall. Be careful don't bend the tv of lay it face down

Or remove the top part of the box off and mount the brackets.
