i was told tonight that if i was able to purchase before the 20th they would price match. Who do you believe and how to protect yourself?

My Costco said "normally" they would price match, but the deal they made with the vender this time excluded price matching. He said the deal for this TV will only be available on those dates; they will NOT price match if the TV is bought before hand. Your friend may be out of luck.
Yeah that's obviously a lie to get out of pricematching

I keep getting product not found on the Costco website. Trying to buy this beforehand with shipping and price adjust after. I'm afraid that all the units will be sold out come 11/20/20.
Depends on the area I guess. Its been OOS since the deal was posted on Nov 3rd in my area. No idea if it will ever come at that price. But if Sony can sell it at that price, then from past experience, it could come back later at that sale price. There is definitely BF, CyberMonday, Christmas and then again near SuperBowl. Its a large TV so they don't have too many in stock in the first place. Plus most people bought it at regular price with the expectation that they would be price adjusted when it actually goes on sale on Nov 20th.

I can't imagine them not price matching. It is costco after all, basically one of the best stores for price matching, returns. Most times no questions asked.

As someone said in one of the posts above, here are the choices for Costco: Either price adjust or take the TV back. What choice do you think they will pick?

Wait until the 20th to buy the set online. You get free shipping and for an extra 20, white glove service, where they unbox it, set it up on your stand and hook it up. There have been multiple reports of delivery guys using Covid as an excuse to not do this. If it happened to me, they would see a new version of the "ugly American."

Iv'e got essentially 20 near me as far as stock goes and store manager confirmed he's not suppose to say it, but just make a "stink" if they say no and you will get it. He said price match can be done at any Costco. Doesn't have to be store where tv was bought. Going to pick up in the am since 2 stores both told me I will have 14 days to price match it ! It is by far the best picture in the store when looking at sets.

Thata my dilemma too. How much is the 77 oled supposed to be on the 20th? Trying to decide if losing the size, but gaining pq is with it when it's going in a dedicated home theater...? I'm thinking since it's a dedicated home theater, the size is most important (which still a good picture quality).

If you do decide to go with oled, this or sony a9g (if hdmi 2.1 is not important to you)?

This is my concern too. They have to get it up stairs around a 90deg turn in my stair well. It SHOULD just barely fit with some clever maneuvering. It will definitely fit if it is unboxed first. I just worry they will take one look and say no then fall back on the covid excuse. I live on my own so I have very few options.

Darn!! Just bought the 65" anticipating it would go on sale and I could price match (def. Can do it if purchased online and price changes within 30 days).

Looks like the 65" isn't in the holiday ad. FrownFrown

i'm going Sony 85" all the way!! I own a 65" C8 and picture is drop dead gorgeous on most everything but size just matters to much in this case. If the Sony had X90ch had a bad picture that be another story but it puts out a gorgeous picture. I'm upgrading from a 1080p 70" so to go to 77" just won't cut it for me.

Called my local CostCo and they said they will not price-match the holiday savings prices. CostCo website says that they will price match CostCo.com orders but doesn't mention anything about warehouses AFAI could tell. Guess it might be a big hassle of return and re-buy if they really want to push it.

Seems like there's a lot of doubt around the TV actually being able display 4k @ 120Hz without compressing the image (read a bunch, but not all, of the pages on the AVS forum). Seems like the typical bait-and-switch that Sony is well known for.

Great price for the feature-set if you don't need 120Hz though

100% false. Look at Costco's price match policy. Also, the ad has no mention of not price matching. Further, several have had an online chat saying they will price match during the sale period.
If you order online (Costco.com) yes, but there's no mention saying of warehouse price-match policy. I just repeated what the warehouse by my area told me when I called them a few mins ago, and that is that they will not price match the holiday savings deals.
