Best one would be like 1080p IPS, 8+ RAM (upgradable) non soldered, 15+inch full numpad, i10/Ryzen7 for $500 or so. Premium build quality not cheap plastic body..

right?

Since we've got a laptop post up, what is the best gaming laptop around the $2k range? The Alienware m15 r2 at Dell for 1900 looked like the best I've seen thus far. I saw the Razer Blade 15 Advanced hit 2k on prime day, does it usually drop at BF?

Those looking for a cheap laptop for MS Office and Web Surfing -- Walmart has HP for 249$. HP 15.6 Core i3 / 8 GB RAM / 256 GB SSD. This is probably the cheapest so far. If you want better CPU, then, DELL inspiron 14 - 7000 at DELL it is 11th Gen i5 CPU, 8 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD. For both laptops, don't know what kind of display panel, RAM upgrade possible or not, etc, but for those who use MS office and Web, most likely they will never open the laptop and upgrade hardware. If you want to go the *cheapest* route, then, at Walmart, Lenevo Ideapad - 3 for 149$ (Pentium dual core, 4 GB, 128GB SSD), but probably not recommended due to P2 processor.

Everyone have different budget/needs and I am not a fan of HP/Lenovo but I think WM HP Pavilion 15 inch for $379 is a great deal. IPS isn't as good as others and I am not sure about 3 cell battery but its good enough for indoor uses. Plenty of power and space to be used everyday and USB-C looks like it PD/DP.

If you need bare minimum, I think WM Lenovo Ideapad 3 14" for $149 is also a good deal if it has current Pentium processor and have RAM to add.

I am debating between two. If it wasn't for this pandemic, I would probably look for something better to replace my Samsung 9 15" and hand down my laptop but I just don't want to spend more if I don't have to. Skylake in my Samsung has slowed down quite a bit but still usable at this time but I sure can use extra boost of processing power.
