SHR always uses one drive with the largest capacity for parity, so putting one 14TB in won't get you anything more than what the Synology has now. You will want to buy at least two 14TB drives. Replace one drive, wait for SHR to rebuild, then repeat with the other new drive. You will end up with 2TB more than current. If you were to replace all four 12TB drives, you would end up with 6TB more than current.

The golden question, what's inside?

Extended returns in effect if you're on the fence.

Purchases made October 13, 2020 through January 2, 2021 have an extended return period through January 16, 2021

These won't get lower. BB does this every year, they offer the BF pricing a few weeks ahead of BF and then again at BF. I buy their BF special drives every year and upgrade both my servers and sell off the drives from the year before. It's the exact same scenario every time. This year it's the 14TB. Last year was the 12TB, 10 before that and 8 before that.

These are Easy Store models, the ones I ordered where My Book. They have different enclosures. These have the curved front and mine had sharp rectangular corners. If I tried that sending mine back, I would probably get busted with Amazon.
Missed that part. Sorry

Dang, one per customer, I need six for my new NAS!
Try submitting a separate order for each, should work.

I just place two seperate orders for these Easy Store 14TB. One pickup, second delivery. What I plan to do is just return my Synology DS220J I purchased on prime day and fork over the different to get a DS420J and move the two 14 TB My Book and add these Easy Store 14TB into the four bay enclosure nas. And that will be it for BF for me. But I will hold out to see if the DS420J goes on sale and not open the WD Best Buy boxes just incase.

Is it it true that the actual usable space on these 14TB drives is actually only 12.7 TB? I saw some review on BB site for this item, so just wondering.
Sounds about right as hard drive manufacturers use 1000 bytes in a kilobyte whereas operating systems tend to use 1024 bytes - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kil..._and_usage

A handy dandy calculator - http://www.endmemo.com/data/diskcapacity.php

Thanks - Stopped working after 3 separate orders. Had the 4th one sent to my mom's using a guest account.

Funny, shipping worked for me now. I placed 2 separate orders successfully - we'll see what happens.

I was able to order 4 at once. Maybe because I did store pickup?

What worries me about this drive is the 1 review about how it makes a clicking sound when idle..I had the same problem with my 8TB drive when I used it for my XBOX ONE X console, even with the console in instant on mode the hard drive would every 2 min make a clicking sound then turn off..dont want that again but am concerned after reading that review

I think Best Buy locked it down to 1 per order sometime this morning. I ordered last night 5 at once, didn't even sign in. Now it says max 1, signed in or not, and to switch to a business account for bulk orders. Business account holders are saying its max 1 for them as well though.
