Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.
It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).
Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.
I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.
Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.
Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

Definitely happy with how these turned out.

Please keep in mind I come from a 2017 LG 34" IPS 1080 (34UM60-P) monitor that was working great, but after a close encounter with my toddler's elbow ended up in a broken panel (it was my fault more than his, so give my boy a break lol).
I consider 34" 21:9 to be the perfect monitor size for my uses, and I decided to upgrade to 1440 just to get more screen real estate. (as a side note: at 1080 I never saw pixels, like some people on the interwebz love to say)
So my first impression of this Acer after a couple of days of use:
The good:
- Panel itself is great. Very little ghosting, and surprisingly very little black smearing. The colors are good and once calibrated, accurate enough for most uses.
- I'm loving the extra real estate that 1440 resolution gives, and the kind of games I play run very well at 144hz. (Kerbal Space Program never looked more glorious)
The bad:
- This thing is cheap!. It's made out of really cheap, thin plastic. Compared to my old LG it looks and feels like a toy monitor. This is made even worse by really crappy stand. I would have to get a VESA arm to get piece of mind with a toddler running around, or otherwise chain the monitor to the desk LOL.... So if you get this, may want to add to the budget a monitor arm if you don't have one.
The Ugly:
- This could be the real deal breaker. Every time I enable FreeSync on a game, the panel brightness flickers like hell. It makes it unusable. After troubleshooting, I believe I either have a defective monitor or a crappy DP cable. So I ordered a new DP 1.4 cable from amazon and will update this once I try it.
However, even if the new cable solves the flickering issue, suddenly this doesn't feel like such a great deal ($350 + $30tax + $xx monitor arm). Considering the general cheap feel of this monitor, $380 feels more like the right price than a super deal.

Just double-checked and that is the cable I'm using. Monitor OSD reports a DP 1.4 connection. FWIW, I bought my cable a year and a half ago.
