My little kids love to put legos like this together. Follow directions. Pay close attention to detail and stay focused on the build process. It has something to offer even though it doesn't involve creativity. There are plenty of lego purchases for creativity.

Thanks, will probably get one at this price. Some will say it's only the "usual 20%" but Technic sets, especially medium-size and larger ones, seldom get a discount. And this bike in particular was in much demand when it came out and hard to find even at full price for a few months.

Actually, big to medium Technic sets are probably the most discounted of all Lego sets. I've literally never paid full price for one and I've been collecting for years, and that includes the rare ones like the Bugatti, Liebherr, and Porsche GT3 RS.
Back in April there was a magazine article about Lego producing this model and the price quoted was $59.99. Guess they decided to make it more expensive. $56 is not bad at all.
Same price on Amazon, if you want to give bezos more money
when did legos morph into something requiring zero creativity?

This looks like a fun build. I was able to grab that Ferrari one posted awhile back and had a great time putting it together. Actually looks pretty awesome and have it by my office desk. 👍🏼👍🏼

I probably wouldn't call them the "most discounted" since smaller sets could go up to 40%+ off, but otherwise I agree, technic large sets tend to see more discount than base large sets.

If anything it allows more creativity- you now have so many more shapes to work with besides your usual bricks.
My kid has gotten a dozen lego sets, and while he builds per direction and plays with them for a week or two like that, they all then get taken apart and built into something entirely new- turning cars into robots, planes into boats, etc.
Also legos have pretty much taken over your traditional Revell models with Testor's glue & paint of the past.
Finally lego still makes plenty of "build whatever" boxes and tubs of just pieces, that sell big every holiday, if SD is any indication.

Same. These kits helps kids with focus, dexterity and fine motor skills. If I had these when I was a kid, I would have skipped the balsa wood and rubber cement kits. 😂

The larger Technic sets are even more fun - and challenging. I love that the gears actually work and if you make a mistake with the build, the wheels or other movable features might not work.
