Not a bad deal, but there have been a lot of deals for this model that include the personal blending kit for $300 - $320. For me, that's the deal I'd prefer, since that kit is pretty handy, and usually runs $120 area by itself iirc.

I'm not jumping on this either—I would prefer the reconditioned/renewed at $189 and spend the savings on a dry container. This is good for those who want the full 7-year warranty but don't need the personal blending kit.

I have my parents old oster beehive that been going strong for over 20 years. They probably don't make them like that anymore but if you see one at a thrift store then give it a whirl for $10 or less. $300 or more for a blender is crazy unless you use it all day long at a workplace. We used Bledtecs at the bar I worked at and they would die but would get fixed on warranty.

How is this compared to Ascent A2300? I got a new one on Craigslist for $250.

What's the best way to be notified of the reconditioned models going on sale?

Set an alert on SD. Almost guaranteed to be $189 for BF, they do it every year. I finally got mine on prime day

Alternatively, set an alert on CCC.

It's just a status symbol for most of the people.
i'm just trying to find a blender that's not trash. ninja never worked too well and all the parts cracked. our vintage oster was great for decades before it died, but idk how i feel about a used vintage blender, don't think those gaskets would still be good

Based on the comments, it's very clear when some people have never tried a Vitamix...a 20 year old Oster? Using a Blendtech at a bar? A status symbol? Lol ok idiots, this is a Vitamix, maybe try one before you knock it. Meanwhile I'm hunting Vitamix deals to buy my 2nd one for work.

That's how good they are, for anyone on the fence. As some mentioned, wait for the $189 refurb deal for the entry level models.

In this case I think it's more along the lines of "you get what you pay for" and not what was posted above saying it's a status symbol for most. Maybe a few, but not most.

You are paying for the quality and customer service here. If you use a blender a few times a week then you should consider a Vitamix or Blendtec. With that said, yes $260+ is steep for most of us but if you can find a reconditioned unit below $200 with the standard 5 year warranty I think it's a great buy.

Ask yourself how often you see comments from people about their Ninja or Nutribullet dying. You don't hear that about Vitamix, their workmanship, warranty and customer service is solid.

I think you hit the nail on the head about use. I just got a Ninja BL770 on sale for $100, not top quality but much better than basic. I will be luckily if I use it once a month after the initial neatness factor wears off. If I used it more than once a week the Vitamix might have been the way to go for $260.

Is there an Amazon link to the model you are referring to with the kit? I would like to set an alert for that
