They don't need it if you are not using it on a platform that could be sensitive to heat . so if you want to put it on your deck , yes you should get the stand . Even directly from solo stove you have to buy the stand separately or pay more for a bundle price

These seem like an amazing idea. Unless you're using for camping. And I'm not sure how the heat radiates outward. But they look cool.

These things are amazing. The airflow is so efficient that the burn creates minimal ash. There is some radiant heat from the device, but the majority of heat is directed upwards as engineered.

A guy had this at a campsite next to ours, it was an long lasting campfire all night long. While we had to keep adding wood to our puny fire, his was very consistent. If you camp often, this is a good investment.

yeah they're the best. i had a steel pipe welded on the bottom to mount it in the ground.
