Getting warmer last year was $79 for the 660p and various other 1 TB drives. This should be around $49 with 2TB floating around $79. NAND chip are now easier and cheaper to make than spinning drives and those are now at 20/30/40/50TB in capacity. There should be no reason to hold prices artifically high for this long except to milk the consumer.

I've been using 660p 1TB for 2 years, so far so good. No noticeable different compared to other TLC NAND products from WD, Adata or Samsung in term of performance. To be specific, gaming, programming, web browsing, Youtube, etc.

At this price point it's a steal for 665p, which improve a bit in term of TBW.

In addition to the TBW increase they improved overly performance as well as stability of that improved performance.

Benchmarks for this unit are pretty good.

I am seeing more and more NVME deals coming down the pipe from Newegg. Is this worth jumping on now or should I wait for BF?

Wow, I really want this but I've got so many spare HDDs lying around from past upgrades that I feel kinda bad for buying more storage.

I really wish there was a good way to recycle old HDs. Yes, I know I can make an external back up HD with them but I've already got 3x 1TB HDs...
