I've been doing different combos and the circular is the best price. Come to 209 before taxes. I wanted to see if you can hack the deal. If you need the grease gun, you can do store pick or shipping. Make sure you have the shipped you keep and the store will refund your store pickup if you don't actaully pick it up.

OR if you want the kit without the EXTRA tool for the low price of 142 before taxes, don't pick up the grease

If you don't care about the free tool then adding the grease gun to the deal makes the tool kit only $142.50 and then you can cancel/return the grease gun.

I bought a 5 tool set with three batteries for 199, few months ago.They were brush less too. Good tools just saying this deal ain't that hot unless you start returning stuff or you just need tools right now.

Do you have a link for that deal? The rep at store told me they don't have any Ryobi brushless combo kits more that 2 or 3 tools (I was referring to $199 non-brushless kit).

That said, this deal is pretty good. If you get the circular saw for total $209 you are essentially getting the other deal (at one of the intermediate prices) with a recip saw and P705 light as the free tools and one battery downgraded from 3Ah HP (which you really want for the saws and other high power tools).

The band saw and grease gun seem like good free tool options which don't go on sale much (and are often over the free tool $ limit). As much as I like that circular saw you can probably find it on another HD sale or on Craigslist.
I got every brushless and main tool from this deal except the planer. I spent a couple thousand and basically got one of each other tool and then flipped the brushless core set to friends. Made money AND got an entire lineup (minus one thing) of the tools. That was a great deal.

I'm in for one. I've been eyeing that drill for a while to pair with my p238 impact driver. The drill combo with 2 2ah non hp batteries is about 120 by itself snd I'm in need or a circular saw so this is a win win for me. Their may be better deals coming but I'll snag this one now and save the receipt.

I have a much older brushed 5 1/2" Ryobi circular saw. I use it for simple quick cuts (building flagpole stands for scouts out of 2x4s and such. I have used it with a 2aH battery with no issues, but for extended cuts it won't last long. I also have the Kobalt 7 1/4" 24V saw, and that one is a beast even with the basic battery. I don't have an XTR one for it, but I have been pretty happy with it.

The Ryobi 7 1/4" is on my list though since it is a blade left saw - all my others are right.

I just picked up the 6 piece kit for $200 the other day (delivered yesterday, barely opened). Is it worth packing it up and returning it to get this brushless kit plus a circular saw? I'm a newish homeowner and just starting to get my tool collection going.
I honestly don't know what I'd use the multitool for just yet, and imagine I'll find a decent deal on one in the future so I'm not that worried about one less tool, so long as the brushless is worth it.

If you compare the 2 sets, you'd lose the multitool and you downgrade a battery - but you get superior tools.

I didn't pull the trigger on the $200 set but I did pick up this brushless one. From some reviews and a youtube video it looks like brushless tools can do about 2x as much drilling as a brushed, they run cooler and are said to have better torque.

I'm an average homeowner too - I've had a lower power hitachi drill/driver/recip-saw junk set that I was gifted when I moved into my house about 10 years ago and while I've "gotten by" fine, I really just want a more reliable more powerful set of tools.

So I can't answer your question from experience - but hope I've helped explain my thought process.

I'm in the exact same boat. I ended up deciding to pack it up and return it in favor of the brushless kit. I picked up the circular saw as my free tool. I think it was the better move.

Wow, this is a really good deal. I have been debating on returning the $200 brushed set (that I have already used several times).

Decided against it though, mostly because the $200 set comes with a 4AH battery and is still slightly cheaper.

Had I not already opened the box and used the tools, I'd be on my way to the Home Depot to return and get this.

The 4AH battery came in handy with the reciprocating saw. I used a 12 inch Diablo blade to remove a tree stump (it was awesome, but used almost the entire battery once done). Obviously you can swap batteries, but doing it in one battery was nice.
