The TV is very pretty. I like the fact that is bezel-less. I haven't mounted the TV yet, and since the speakers are not up against the wall. They are pretty decent, so soundbar might not be needed if you are using a TV stand. In terms of picture quality, outside of dark scenes, I think it's VERY good for a 200 dollar TV. I had low expectations based on what i read here, and was pleasantly surprised. Now the dark scenes are not as great - but certainly is not unwatchable or hurt any eyes.
I haven't had the chance play any games on it, but i don't plan to own a ps5 or xbox . I only play N Switch games with my kids, but i don't think it will be an issue. This TV is Roku, is very easy to use and navigate - i would've prefer it to be android. People have said the android is slow and buggy, but a good friend of mine has a 58 android version of this and told me, the recent patches had fixed alot of the bugs.
Overall I'm very happy i bought this. I keep saying to my wife, i can't believe i only paid 200 dollars for this. I know walmart has a upcoming special on the TCL55, but i'm going to keep my Hinsense. Good luck on your TV hunt guys.
For older people I think Roku is easier from them to navigate.
