Seems the stock is going in and out, so if you see 'CHECKOUT' do it right away and go through the check out process. KEEP CLICKING PLACE ORDER. I did it for a few minutes and it went through.

** TOOK ME ABOUT AN HOUR TO TRY AND PLACE THE ORDER (ENTIRE PROCESS). I kept refreshing and it said 'CHECKOUT' a few times, but once it was in cart, I was able to get the 'PLACE ORDER' tab and it took a while before it actually went through. So keep at it! **

UPDATE: 11/10/2020 - 6:40 AM EST - I was able to place an another order after trying for an hour. BIG SHOUTOUT TO '460cidpower' for suggesting 'FREE MOUSE CLICKER'. It is a life saver! Keep on clicking! It will go through after some time!

I can only add what worked for me on the Xbox site using Auto Clicker.
Requirements:
Signed into Microsoft account, current address and preferred payment method set. I used PayPal.
Windows PC with Auto Clicker downloaded and ready to launch.
Using the url in the main part of this thread, patiently wait for the Xbox Series X to be in stock. When it is add it to your cart. I would do this while signed into your Microsoft account on a mobile device so you can check while sitting in the couch or on the go.
When successfully added to your cart get to the screen where you place the order. Click the Place Order button. It will likely return a yellow banner that says you can not place an order at this time.
Launch Auto Clicker on your PC. Hover your mouse pointer over the Place Order button (it should be green) and press F6 on your keyboard. Sit back and wait, better yet go do something else.
If you are lucky Auto Clicker will eventually stop because the screen is now displaying Thanks for your order.
The hardest part is getting it into the cart.

So microsoft tweeted that pic saying to contact them, and I saw on reddit and slickdeals and twitter that the people who contacted them were given $50 gift cards
I don't think Microsoft said it, they just said "contact us". and that's what they've been doing

There's actually no information regarding such giveaway of $50 for the said incorrect delivery date, the reason why we are also somehow confused how other players was able to claim it.
