I do have to ask how u got a 4a for 200?
Everything else would be a push or in favor of the S8.
Larger internal storage with the Pixel, but expandable w/memory card on the S8.
Larger battery on the Pixel, but better display on the S8.
It is just a list of potential trade-offs between them, so......just depends what you're looking for.
Everything else is worse on Samsungs: Their OneUI is hated by more people than loved (I kind of liked it in the beginning but now it looks ugly, boring and feels like the reason the phone is slow. I mean they (both S9 and S9+) are slower on Android 10 than my Pixel 2 is on Android 11. No more OS updates, so S9, which has newer and undeniably better hardware is stuck on 10 and Nattefrost's S8 is what? Android 9? And my Pixel 2, which has older hardware (Snapdragon 835, same as S8) received Android 11 the day it came out and it works better, smoother and faster than both my S9s with their OneUI on Android 10. And then there's camera software... in my mind there's simply no comparison: it's google or bust, hands down. Samsung's photo computations seem almost revolting to me, I'm simply waiting for a proper google camera port to wipe this apology of an OS from them and go with something CAF-optimized/LineageOS/AOSP, which is what I have running on my good old Nexus 6 and 6p. They do surprisingly well running Android 10 with google camera port
15 a month for 2gb then my partner can tether off my work SIM with basically unlimited data... sounds like that could work for us although it would be a 2 year commitment
But my 2XL is still working perfectly for me. Do I dare give it up?!?
I am going to wait to get some additional details on the trade-in as well. My 2XL is in pristine condition and still gets decent battery life, so the only reason for me to upgrade is the lack of security updates. If the trade in value is 50% for the 2XL, I will definitely trade it in. I also have my daughter's old 2XL with a cracked screen that still works and may trade that instead, depending upon the fine print with the trade in. I suppose we are in a holding pattern until more details are released on the 13th.
