I am in market for 50 inch budget tv and have 3 tv in mind (want spend max. $350).
1. Hisense 50H8G ($429.99)
2. TCL 5 series S535 ($399.99)
3. This vizio MQ7 (usually at $389.99)

I wanted to get Hisense but the price is not coming down at all (recently lowest I saw was $399.99 and in June Amazon had for 350 for very short time).
So rating and price comparision makes lot of sense to get this Vizio.
Any suggestions are welcome.

They will not open a factory sealed box when you return it-They only open and inspect/check serial numbers on open box returns. They can resell a factory sealed product. If you go to any Costco 30 days after the purchase, they are not allowed to issue a price adjustment. They will however recommend rebuying at the reduced price and returning it on the original receipt. I'm not just making this up. They've made this recommendation to me and other people I know.
LG has edge lighting, Vizio full array.

LG is IPS, Vizio is VA

Vizio has HDR10+, LG does not.

LG has their proprietary NanoCell, Vizio has Quantum Dot, which apparently is better.

LG has 1 year manufacturer warranty. Vizio (if bought at Costco) has 3 year manufacturer warranty.
I bought and returned a surround sound system from Costco recently. They opened the box, made sure each part was in the box and they typed in the model or serial # from the soundbar. After that, I would not personally do what you stated.

Yup. I agree I dont see a fix coming anytime soon. I forced my Roku to Dolby Digital out and that seems to have resolved it. I still get the clicking in the Roku Menus since that sound is still sent via PCM. Once I switch to a source that is encoded in Dolby Digital the clicking seems to go away. I ended up just turning off the sounds in the Roku menu's so I dont the click, a bit of a hack but it works.

Yup this fixed it for my Xbox and Roku

Ordered 2.

First arrived last week and has been great,

Second arrived today and screen is cracked and busted. Think I will just drop it off at a UPS drop-off center, not interested in waiting on the Costco customer service line.

Yeah the built in TV OS is usually pretty bad. Even on TVs that have Android TV, it's often very laggy on the low-end and midrange TVs due to the relatively slow CPU. I had a spare Fire Stick 4K (used to use it on my 'main' TV but replaced it with an Nvidia Shield a while back) so I'm just using that with this TV.
I don't know if it's just finicky with some people's routers or what, but it's worked very well for me. I've tested casting tabs and a half dozen apps. It doesn't feel slower than my Fire Stick 4K or Chromecast v2, and when the TV's at a powered off state and I hit an app shortcut, it loads up within a couple of seconds. I'm kinda expecting a wayward Vizio update to somehow mess things up eventually, but I'll take it for now...

ls it normal for the lcd screen to be slightly off center and have light leakage from the sides?

The LCD screen seems smaller than the frame, so I can see the edge of the lcd screen and there's a bigger gap on one side. On my other TV's the lcd screen goes under the frame.

As a result there is light leakage from the sides and weird metallic gold colored squares at the corners of the lcd display.

I don't know if this is normal or a factory defect.

Does not look good. Whatever is the issue. You don't like it so just talk to customer service and ask for a replacement.
They will send UPS for pick up.
Not sure when you will get a replacement.

I had issue with a power washer from Costco. I asked for replacement and they shipped it right away. 1 month later they asked for the defective piece to be picked up.

Costco's customer service is great and that is why I prefer to buy from them.

I'll get it replaced, thanks for the feedback. I also posted this on reddit and everyone is saying the same thing.

The display looks good overall, colors, blacks, etc. But the workmanship looks like crap compared to my cheap Toshiba Fire TV and TCL 4 series.

Looks like you just got a bad piece.
I got this TV and in fact I posted earlier that it is much better picture and hardware compared to Vizio V series, Samsung TU700 and LG UN7300 but not as good as my Samsung Q70.
I think after replacement you will enjoy your TV. Good luck.

Issued for a replacement on my damaged unit last week. Says it's supposed to be delivered today, but there are no updates beyond "Shipment Ready For UPS".

Looks like it may be another long waiting period on replacements as well.

My replacement (from a smashed screen in shipping) came a tad quicker than the original shipment.

I was afraid the 2nd one would be smashed too, but it came in without any damage.

For $300 the TV is excellent.
The colors are extremely vivid, and honestly the reds are almost TOO red! haha!

Did you have to return your original TV first before getting your replacement TV? If not, do they put an authorization on your card until you return the original TV?

Also, did you use the online replacement form or did you contact customer service?

Edit: tried the online return and replace form but kept getting an error. I ended up calling customer service and ordering the replacement. Won't be here until the 29th! 😭

I called the Concierge line, which worked with Costco Customer Service to set up a swap.

Mine was a bit trickier, because I wanted them to ship the TV to a different address compared to the original one.
(Instead of Work address, I wanted to ship it to Home instead)

So I went the long way around, they had me order a new TV (replacement), to ship to the new address, and then they had UPS come and pick up the old (original) TV.

A bit of a hassle, but partly because of my doing, as I made a mistake originally having them ship to my work address, instead of my home.

You need to keep attempting it, it'll eventually go through. Took me many attempts.

Just a heads up for others who try the online replacement form.
