I am in market for 50 inch budget tv and have 3 tv in mind (want spend max. $350).
1. Hisense 50H8G ($429.99)
2. TCL 5 series S535 ($399.99)
3. This vizio MQ7 (usually at $389.99)

I wanted to get Hisense but the price is not coming down at all (recently lowest I saw was $399.99 and in June Amazon had for 350 for very short time).
So rating and price comparision makes lot of sense to get this Vizio.
Any suggestions are welcome.

They will not open a factory sealed box when you return it-They only open and inspect/check serial numbers on open box returns. They can resell a factory sealed product. If you go to any Costco 30 days after the purchase, they are not allowed to issue a price adjustment. They will however recommend rebuying at the reduced price and returning it on the original receipt. I'm not just making this up. They've made this recommendation to me and other people I know.

LG has edge lighting, Vizio full array.

LG is IPS, Vizio is VA

Vizio has HDR10+, LG does not.

LG has their proprietary NanoCell, Vizio has Quantum Dot, which apparently is better.

LG has 1 year manufacturer warranty. Vizio (if bought at Costco) has 3 year manufacturer warranty.

I bought and returned a surround sound system from Costco recently. They opened the box, made sure each part was in the box and they typed in the model or serial # from the soundbar. After that, I would not personally do what you stated.

The OS is definitely worse than I thought it would be. If it worked than it would be fine, but it gets annoying having to reboot the tv to fix issues. You may just get a green screen when trying to play any video. The chromecast at times may not be detected. I guess it's not even a chromecast ultra since google stadia doesn't work on it.

You are right definitely better to have your own chromecast plugged in. I quickly stopped using the OS and use game consoles + my own chromecast ultra for apps.

I returned my TV and decided to keep the $150 insignia after comparing the tv panels. The insignia seemed like it had better viewing angles. I didn't try the smart features on either tv but I don't think I'm missing anything.

Yes, either use the online return form and request a replacement or call costco.com customer service. Online form might give you errors, but someone said keep trying and it will go through.

I won't get the replacement until the 29th.

They send you a UPS label that you have to print within 3 days. Once you print/ save it, you can schedule the UPS pickup for a later date. I scheduled the pickup for the 29th, same day I get the replacement TV.

Did anyone try to connect this to an Xbox? It's not letting me activate 4K...aka the major reason I bought the new tv...

EDIT: if anyone is having the same problem go to settings, picture, scroll down to input picture settings, choose hdmi and set it to 2.1. All working well now

I got my replacement TV. No cracked screen yay! Took about a week. They didn't email me a return label so went through an online chat agent to get that set up.

Received my replacement TV today, no damage this time.

Looks and works great, and I surprisingly don't have any issues with the built-in OS or apps, I know others have mentioned a negative experience.

I did encounter the audio popping bug that others have noted, which was rectified by setting the TV to Digital Audio.

This TV looks better than expected, some slight horizontal banding and uniformity issues, but nothing major for a TV in this price range.

Received tv about a week ago. Right after the updates, I turned off eco mode. Havent had any if the no start issues that people have been having.

I received one a few weeks ago. After the update and turning off Eco Mode, I couldn't connect to wifi. Vizio wanted to do a repair on it. I called costco and got an exchange set up.

I received the exchange, and all is working fine. I ordered two, and the second one arrived. No issues with that one either.

Received mine on 14th Dec... the box was damaged and looks like it was opened. Upon opening, I could only find one leg of the stand and that too was damaged. Initiated a return and got the replacement today. They somehow shipped a V series 40 inch TV as replacement. Chatted with customer service again and placed another replacement order. Fingers crossed 🤞

Your feedback surprises me because I've found the opposite to be true. I've been watching schitt's creek on this set via the PS4 Pro Netflix app for a couple weeks. Tonight I decided to give the native Netflix app a try instead and noticed a huge improvement in picture quality. Seems strange because schitt's creek is in 1080p, I don't know why the PS4 Netflix app wouldn't be able to handle better.
