You realize 4K 144hz monitors are insanely expensive, right? 60hz is just fine for those working with productivity apps. Most of these 4K deals are VA, not IPS like this one.
Don't know how it compare to the imac monitor, but this is very sharp. Almost everyone does find 27" too small for a native 4k monitor though and uses scaling. I find 125% scaling in Windows comfortable enough. Actually been running one at 100% for awhile and have been getting used to it. Although it is connected to my laptop in front of it. Sometimes I'll move a webpage or document to laptop screen to read text more easily (larger due to being closer and lower resolution).

27" 1080p is extremely pixelated. I personally don't really even like 27" QHD because I see the pixels so easily. Sweet spot to me is 32" 4K or 24" QHD. But 27" 4K panels tend to be a lot better for the price and less selection of 24" QHD than 27".
Higher quality monitors don't typically come with speakers. It's actually a turn-off to me if a monitor has speakers unless I'm looking to buy one for my grandma.

I just bought the 27inch 1080p samsung curved monitor from Costco for $129(can't beat the price given their generous return policy). I can tell it's so pixilated, probably because of the 5k imac I have at home....the contrast of resolution between the two is killing me lol Should I get this one instead?

Ugh I wish there is an easy way that I can use my Imac 5k monitor as my second monitor for work(Windows laptop)...

I'm in the same boat. I needed monitors for work during the day, mostly web work and Office apps, and graphics/web at night. I considered this one and the 144hz 32' FHD Acer from Walmart, but ended up going with the QHD LG 32QN600 from Amazon. Midrange resolution so don't have to scale things up as much, IPS for better color, larger screen, and 75hz refresh is fine for what I do. Have a pair set up and very pleased so far. If I were getting 27" I probably would have gone with these, but knowing what I know know I'm glad I went with QHD. My work laptop struggles with QHD and dual 4K probably wouldn't have worked at all. They work great with my MacBook and custom built PC.

Kind of the same situation for me. I currently have dual 27" 4K LG monitors. I had to get a new work laptop with a dedicated GPU to drive them. And after using them the last 6 months, actually looking at moving back to QHD. For database work that I do, no real need for the 4K and some of the software I use struggles with scaling.
