I won't buy from Newegg but I'm curious this or the Dell that has similar specs from Best Buy if they were both similar price?
I haven't seen the Dell, but I have this monitor. It's good, but I don't care for the slow response times of the monitor. They claim 1ms(?), but it's really much worse than that where you could be playing a game in the shadows (think Fallout) and the grey, green, and reds streak pretty badly. It's not too bad when the scene is bright, but it's a little annoying when you play darker games.
I can't say I would recommend this monitor. It's good for the price, but I'd have rather waited for more reviews and skipped the purchase.
VA panels in general has more blur-trail , the fringe could be the backlight strobe double image, or the overdrive which smears the pixel across the screen.
IPS is faster, it still has this problem, but the trail is smaller and less visible.
The drawback is IPS make movies look like garbage. very low contrast ratio.
I bought a 34" Gigabyte monitor from Newegg and returned it due to excessive light bleed. They tried to charge me almost a $100.00 for return shipping and a restocking fee. I wanted to exchange it but they were out of stock so I had no choice but to return it. I tried speaking to a representative about the fees but they just said too bad. I ended up leaving a bad review for them and disputing the charge on my credit card. They finally relented and waived the fees but the damage was done. I've been doing business with them for over 20 years but I won't buy anything else from them if I can help it. I'd rather pay a little more somewhere else than deal with them again.
