I tried to activate prepaid plan with T-mobile online. But, I kept getting an error, so I called CSR.
And the lady told me that the SIM card is not valid for T-mobile, and I need to purchase a new one from T-mobile. It's brand new SIM that came with phone, and it says T-mobile.
Does anyone have the similar issue?

Thanks.
I think the SIM that came with the phone is for post paid accounts.

It ticks all the boxes except for stereo speakers and to a lesser degree, no glass back. Can't go back to single speaker for media with an OLED screen made for media consumption. Ugh. Was preparing for Samsung again after my S4 but looking at Xiaomi again, for which some bands might be missing but I'm mostly using wi-fi for everything anyway.

I called and the CSR sent me a pre-paid sim card for free and I was able to open the $15/month prepaid line with that free card.

Got T-Mobile to unlock the device for free in one day without any hassle. Now wait for the device trade-in to go through and then its a super slick deal for an unlocked phone :-)

Did you use/turn on the phone to have that done? I just got mine and debating on what to do for unlock. And I do have T-mobile already.

I did turn it on and then just reached out to Tmobile support to get it unlocked.

Via Twitter yes. I have done it before as well with an S8 deal couple of years ago. They submitted request yesterday and said to wait 72 hours before checking. I tried today and device got unlocked/

I have never used Tmobile service. Just gave them IMEI and an email address.

I swapped A71 to my T-Mobile line several days ago. I just checked unlocking status from my T-Mobile account. It says "status unknown, this device is not in our system". Why is this? Will it still be eligible for unlocking from T-Mobile?
