To receive the bonus you must make at least 2 direct deposits totaling $1,000 or more to your 360 Checking account within 60 days of account opening

Full Details:

Capital One reserves the right to withdraw this offer, with or without notice, in its sole discretion if it is determined that fraud or any other factor beyond its control is impacting the integrity of the offer and campaign.

Here's the full scoop on how to earn your $400 bonus:
  1. Open a 360 Checking account between 12:00 a.m. ET on November 9, 2020, and 11:59 p.m. ET on January 26, 2021. When you open your account, enter your promotional code—BONUS400.
  2. Receive at least 2 direct deposits totaling $1,000 or more to your 360 Checking account within 60 days of account opening. A qualifying direct deposit is an Automated Clearing House (ACH) credit, which may include payroll, pension or government payments (such as Social Security) by your employer or an outside institution.
  3. This account is subject to approval. This offer cannot be combined with any other 360 Checking account opening offers. Only one promotional code is accepted. Bonus is only valid for one new 360 Checking account.

When will I get my bonus?

Your bonus will be deposited into your new 360 Checking account by the date stated below:

Just opened it. I can see why people missing the bonus code, it's on the external transfer account page instead of the main page. so whether you plan to add a bank account to not just visit the page and make sure the code is auto-populated if not enter/copy-paste manually. you should see a banner on the final page if code is entered. Btw I already have a capital one account so I didn't receive any alert from credit monitoring that inquiry was posted or there was a hard pull. Most of my information was auto-filled and when I clicked next it displayed - doing necessary checks, doing govt mandated checks, and verifying records and finally displayed - good to go. Thanks
Nope. When you click I will fund later, you can still see the code applied and it gives a green tick mark. Also, you can see later pages showing that.

And just to confirm, I had called the CSR after opening the account and they had confirmed that I used the promo code.

How are you determining it's not registering as an ACH? Have any ACH transfers actually shown up with the words "ACH" instead of "Electronic Transfer"?
wondering same thing. My Venmo is also showing electronic transfer

I confirmed today that my Schwab brokerage is showing as an ACH on their (Capital One's) side. Whether or not that will be defined as a direct deposit on their end for this promotion, who knows. Only way to find out is to wait. Sorry folks.

On another note, Capital One has the best mobile app and online system I've ever used for any bank!

So, was anyone able to get anything other than pay check working? I tried Robinhood and Vanguard. Both, seem to be coded as Electronic Transfer.

I called the bank to check to see if a lot of people were calling the bank. Does that count?

Stop calling the bank and blowing their sh*t up you dumb noobs. It doesn't have to code as a paycheck or direct deposit at capital one to get your bonus. ACH transfer qualifies. See data points on doctor of credit post. Jesus

Exactly. I actually tried to explain in details that ALL electronic transfers from external institutions work. But people just keep posting their theories of what qualifies and what not, without any knowledge of how the transactions are coded.

All electronic transfers from any outside institutions are coded the same way. It makes no difference in their computer if your transaction is payroll, government benefits, tax refunds, brokerage transfer, personal transfer, etc.

Instant P2P transfers (like Zelle) won't qualify.
Instant transfers using your debit card number won't qualify.
ATM, branch, wire transfers, check deposits, etc, won't qualify.
Any other instant deposits won't qualify

Cash App and PayPal offer standard deposits to your bank account and Instant Deposits to your linked debit card. Standard deposits will qualify but instant deposits will not.

All other transactions that takes 1-2 days to deposit to your account will qualify, such as PayPal and External bank transfer. People think this is too good to be true, and try to convince themself that Cap1 won't pay out the bonus that easily. Well, Cap1 also wants you to think that way, because they want you to use them for payroll and government benefits, but this does not mean those are the only transactions that qualify.

Also, the name of the transaction and the memo does not matter, and whether or not the name or memo includes the word ACH or P2P does not make any difference. It's just a name or a memo that the institution that initiated the transaction made up - it doesn't affect how the transactions are coded.

All electronic transfers that take 1-2 days to process (with the exceptions I listed above) are coded the same way.

In fact Doctor of Credit was the culprit in causing all these confusions. They think they would be helpful in compiling a huge list of transactions of what they believe would and would not qualify, but they only caused more confusions.

Old thread but a likely reason why many wont get the bonus, in past years if you werent on the list of people sent the offer directly - no bonus:

https://www.reddit.com/r/churning...s_without/

I have a capitolone CC and I have a $250 offer (spending not deposit) for opening a 360 checking listed but no $400 bonus advertised.

How do you explain people in DOC who didn't get the bonus triggered doing ACH transfers from certain banks? Are you willing to do an ACH transfer from one of the "did not work" banks to prove your point?
