I too opened the account on Nov 15th. But, did not make any deposit immediately after opening the account. All my deposits were through Direct Deposit through my employer.
Not sure if making a small deposit through the account opening process makes a difference.
I did enter the promo code and I have a screenshot in case if I needed to follow-up. Let's see, I will update once I have more information.

Did 2 $500 transfers from TD Ameritrade on back to back days
Did 2 $xxx direct deposits from my job afterwards just to be safe
Got the deposit today
Not sure if it was the TDA transfers or my actual job transfers that made it successful so sorry I dont have that detail. Just wanted people to know it did in fact work under the above scenario at least.
