The so called 120Hz is a gimmick .It's basically a 100Hz monitor.
Newegg is terrible as a seller. I've shopped there for years and now stick to Amazon/Bestbuy instead as NewEgg is a pain to deal with returns and they charge restocking fees even for defective items.
Lukewarm deal at the very best.

However, I would not buy either monitor from newegg. I would wait for this item to be on sale on Monoprices own website.

I have been a shopper at Newegg for 10+ years and have never had any issues with them in the case of returns or replacements. In fact I once purchased a $2,200 dollar laptop from them and it just quit working about a week outside of their return window. They worked with me and since I had been a customer for so long they couldn't give me a refund but did give me an exact amount gift card instead as I was going purchase something else from them as the replacement anyways. Newegg will work with you and make things right. Just don't go into it being an ass hat about things.

According to the comments they are both 4ms, dark matter is 1ms VBR which is a marketing gimmick
He means 144 versus 120/100
