Just an FYI, this was posted yesterday on reddit:

Mint mobile agent just told me that tomorrow will be a Black Friday sale for new members of buy 3 months get 3 free... But the device you're using cannot have been active on Mint Mobile for 91 days. So even if you order a new SIM or phone number it's the device you are using that will determine if you are eligible for the sale price.

So if you are using google voice and renewing with a new number the discount might not work.

Unlimited Data: Unlimited means speeds will be reduced to a max of 128Kbps after >35GB/mo. or use of GB allotment for the remainder of the billing cycle. 1 month equals 30 days. Partial megabytes rounded up. Unlimited on handset and network only

Not sure if this was posted already, but back in Oct I bought 3 month 8gb for $30 at best buy. Just activated it on Nov18. Today got a month email about the extra 3 months free. So the offer is based on activation date, not purchase date of you bought it from best buy also. My account still shows good til Feb 2021. $30 for 8gb for six months is not bad!.....

Jim, this is us letting you know that the 3 free months we promised you is now sitting in your account — xxx-xxx-xxxx. When your first three months are up, your plan will automatically renew for another three. Six months without a wireless bill, bliss.
anyone try this with the walmart Pixel 4a mint mobile 3gb/3mo bundle?

I am on T-Mobile $15 plan. If I switch to this and will I need to buy a SIM again on T-Mobile to go back? That will bring down the savings to $42. over 6 months.

T-mobile's $15 plan (2GB, unliited voice and text) is better plan.
Yeah I am on the T-mobile plan, wondering if worth switching for 6 months.

I had a redpock (on T-mobile) before. Some friends told me they called me but I did not receive any calls. Other times I called them but they said they did not receive my calls.
After that, I switched to redpocket (on AT&T) and never faced this issue.
So, any comments on this issue with mint?
Thank you

I just purchased a starter, but didn't activate it yet. Can I still take an advantage of this offer?
I bought a 7 day starter kit from bestbuy early in the month. After I finished the 7 days trail, I purchased a 3 month plan yesterday and ported in my number and activated my plan. Got an email for my 3 free months today. To me it works. The agent I chatted with told me I wouldn't get the 3 free months but I went ahead and activated anyway and now I got the 3 free months. Hope this helps

Were you an existing mint customer prior to 90 days when you activated the sim?

I am just reading the new ToS.

So no point of getting if we need to activate within 45days from purchase.

I am an existing mint customer using GV.

Our office used Redpocket mobile for a year, the service with them was garbage, We have now been on Mintmobile for a year and its night and day different. Our coverage is great, the call quality is great. We got redpocket on an eBay deal like 2 years ago when it was 150 for a year and 8gb a month.

How soon will the kit arrive for activation if ordered from mint, from your past experience?
a few days, i ordered and it came from IL i think. in any case, the post office lost it and mint CS was useless. i was essentially told i needed to go the postal sorting facility where tracking stopped and get the package because they can't understand "didn't get the sim cards due to carrier".
In any case, i reversed the CC charges and ordered again and they came just fine.

Just don't leave yourself vulnerable to their CS if you can help it. now that i can just get sims at best buy i don't have to deal with mint directly at all.

i activated one last night, the credit showed up today as "eligible" and they say it takes up to 24 hrs. it didn't move my end date but you can see a credit in the transaction list.
i'm not sure if they automatically use the credit (they list is as $45 ) to extend 3 months or if you have to set up autorenew for it to be used. i'm waiting and watching to see what happens.
