Just to answer some common questions I keep seeing:
- Each card needs to be purchased as a separate Target transaction in order to get the Target card bonus for each Apple card.
- You can use the same Target account, no need to make separate accounts (unless you are trying to circumvent the new limit that seems to have been added today).
- You will get an order confirmation email immediately.
- Apple cards will arrive via email several hours to a day later. The email has a link to Target's fulfillment site which will then take you to the actual gift card code. From there you can either manually copy/paste the code or simply click the link and it should open up the proper program on your computer or phone in order to load the card to your Apple account.
- You will receive another email at some point that informs you that the email with the Apple gift card was sent. This email doesn't have any value.
- Target bonus cards will arrive a day or so later via email. I've found that they generally arrive a few hours after you receive the email I mentioned in the previous point above. Sometimes the cards will already be loaded into your Target wallet in the Target app, but the majority of mine have not been preloaded. The email will contain a link that will load them into your Target account. The Target app also has a button that will allow you to combine all the cards into a single balance for easier use.
- The Apple gift cards will trigger the bonus offers on the Apple site (for instance, buy an Apple TV with the Apple gift cards you bought from Target and Apple will send you a $50 Apple gift card).
- You can use the Target gift cards to buy other items at Target that have a gift card bonus offer, but you can't use them to actually buy more gift cards. For instance, you can buy two packs of laundry detergent which has a $5 Target gift card bonus offer and you'll get the $5 bonus gift card, but you can't use the Target gift cards to buy more Apple gift cards.
- You can load up to $2000 in total balance to your Apple account. Additionally you are only allowed to load $2000 total per day. So even if you buy something using your Apple balance you'll still need to wait a day before you can load more gift cards into your balance.
- You can apply up to 8 gift card codes during checkout at Apple.
Apparently, Best Buy will offer the same deal (BB GC) during BF.
https://www.bestbuy.com/site/blac...8908893088

Edit: some idiots have been replying to me on how they like this deal better than BB's since GC is more useful to them. I couldn't care less about your situation. I'm just letting people know about BB's deal.
Assuming you're treating the $20 like cash, you're getting 16.67% off, not 20%.

20% would be if they were only charging you $80 for a $100 gift card. You're paying $100 for $120.

Edit: Unless you're including the Red Card 5% off, in which case it's more like 21%

Can you share more details on how to combine the cards into one? After combined, can you still use that card number and pin at check out? I don't want to load all the balance to my Apple ID since I didn't see any option to pay with Apple ID balance at Apple.com check out.
You have to login to web rather than on phone! Full website have more options to combine all gift cards to one.

15 successful transactions with 15 $20 Gift Cards totaling $300 for $1,500 worth of Apple credit. I purchased Sunday night and received GG's by Tuesday afternoon. The deal works, just need to give it some time (~48hrs in my case) to process.

Pro tips:
1. combine all the Target GC balances into one for easier management
2. if you have a Chase Freedom card connected to PayPal then use that to get 5% back instead of 4% through Red Card
How do you add them into one balance?

I have put my one month pay and got 100 orders. Only 10 fulfilled in last 24 hours. Now I understand why they say that you need to sell your leg and arms to get an Apple product.

BUYER BEWARE
-------------------------------------------------------

Long time lurker - one of my times posting, but this has gotten me so mad....MadMadMadMadMad

I bought over 10pcs of the $100 apple gift cards and only 1 of them worked. The rest were already redeemed before I returned home to use them. Some data points:
- Similar to Yong0644, I purchased them in a Target store in the greater San Diego area. Others were scammed in NJ and San Jose based off what I can tell
- I called Apple. The rep was able to check the value of other cards without ripping the seal. Same situation as others. Money is gone so Apple can't do anything or provide additional info due to legal reasons. A case was created for investigation.
- I called Target Relations (1-800-275-2273 --> Option 4 then 3 then 2. Was told I needed to speak to a "gift card specialist" but they're closed for the night. Will call again tomorrow
- As far as I could tell, the normal shopper will not be able to tell the difference between the ones that have been tampered with. Looking back at them, they all look geniune.
- Planning on filing a police report at the store if they cannot refund tomorrow
- Tried finding all the other mentions of this scam/fraud in the thread and quoted them below as additional data points. I'm sure I'm missing people though.

Honestly, I fully blame Target. My suspicion is a group of people at Target are accessing the codes and re-sealing the gift cards.

Question for the community:
1) I saw some posts about the online codes as well. Does anyone have trouble redeeming the $100 Apple gift card if sent electronically?
2) Any help from those affected would be greatly appreciated. This is only the surface and I'm sure many more are affected who don't even realize they've been robbed.

Thanks in advance,

I went back to the store today for a refund. Rejected. Requested store manager and explained what happened but rejected again. She insisted all gift card sales are FINAL.
Called Apple 800-275-2273 and they confirmed those gift cards were used by someone else and they flagged the account but they cannot reinstate funds to me. According to them, Target should give me a refund.
Called Target Gift card dept. 800-544-2943 and they were not able to assist me but they will investigate this.
No one is taking responsibility for this matter. I purchased with Target Debit card and I can't even dispute charges with them. They put me back to the gift card dept.
I filed a police report and also to Federal Trade Center, State Attorney.
E-mailed a few Target executives as well.
Submitted story to local news channels.

I'm doing everything I can but no luck yet. I'll post if there are any updates in my case.

It's better than investing in Apple itself. I am going nuts as to how it is possible waiting for Best Buy BF deal to go live. Apple accounts over 2000$ dollars are audited so this is best way of transferring money. Do a google search on "hawala".

I plan to create 5 accounts and sell it.

I don't expect you would get anything unless you go stand outside state attorney office. This has been happening in NJ and target seems to be the source, so their employees may be involved. I am still waiting over 24 hours and reclaiming money into my Apple account as soon as I get email, I placed 100 orders but got only 10 so far. I have suffered this but only for under 100 bucks. The laws are non existent for people suffering loses of few 100's unless it happens in masses.
