I went with the regular iPad after much debate and don't regret it one bit. After using/owning every level of iPad in the last, having the "cheap" version has its advantages. First being that this design, while some say is outdated, has been in production for so long that many of its quirks have been ironed out. The lack of laminated display also means you won't have costly replacements, nor will you see the level of backlight bleed or bezel pressure points that rough handling can cause issues with.
The screen quality is also excellent for content consumption. The lack of Truetone is my biggest gripe, but you'd only notice the difference comparing it side by side with another model.
I hope some of this info can be helpful to those of you looking. At the end of the day, I would say take one of these and put the extra money into nice accessories.

Not saying I regret buying the mini at 350, but I rue and lament it.
Same here, Air has A14 and this has A12. Debating on getting ipad Air to future proof it.

Still a good deal for anyone that needs this now though
Best Buy probably would have been around $5 less (no shipping) - AMEX $25 off $250 - 1% back on the total charge = around $356.67.
The difference is worth buying from Costco for me. Would probably submit a price adjustment request if there are any further drops for Black Friday and return/rebuy if that doesn't go through.
