I believe this is the lowest price ever offered from JBL on the PB100, which is a really great speaker in this market. Peace

Not saying one product is better than the other, but one company makes nothing but audio products, another is known for portable battery packs and charging cables...

I own 2 of these and 2 party box 300. One word of caution for DJ-ing is the audio lag on these specifically. Almost 1 full second of lag, keeping them out of sync with headphones plugged into a mixer or controller (this delay exists even when using the wired connection) so if you are comfortable mixing In The headphones only can be a great solution. If you like the one headphone tactic it constantly sounds like a train wreck.

No problem, I did has the same mind set on people buying products because of brandname. But after owning Yeti cooler products, I don't want to go back 😅! Same principle applies to JBL speaker !

Anybody has experienced this and Monster Blaster? Which one is clear and louder?

I owned monster blaster and partybox 300 (bigger brother of partybox 100). Monster blaster win for the clarity. But you want loud and shaking bass get the party box. In addition monster blaster is different category than partybox. You really want compare monster blaster to the Boombox with similar designs and purpose as small portable speaker.

I have ALL the JBL speakers as well as over 50 other portable Bluetooth speakers. Bang for your buck, this is hands down the best speaker out there. My favorite go to is the Marshall Stockwell II. Just wished it was louder since the killburn nor the tufton can produce the same sound stage. No brainer if anyone is on the fence. YES, this sounds better than the 200, 300, 310, and 1000.

Nice, how is the treble and bass on Marshall stockwell II comparing to Party Box 100 ? I mostly listen to heavy bass music like Hip Hop. So, I am looking for portable speaker out there could beat the bass on this Boombox100 ! Thanks

Can anyone suggest a good simple Karaoke mixer, that has 2 wireless mics, reverb, echo, sound improvement, etc that could connect to this?

All the company's I've found seem to be cheaply made, or if they do have good reviews it's just a 2 mic PA system with no sound features.

The bass response on these are fantastic. If you don't believe me, go search for "oluv gadgets partybox 100". It's bulky but for bass, you'll always want to get the biggest speaker you can carry

Just a microphone. Note it only has one mic input, so you'll have to come with your own method for using more than one mic. Of course you would need your music source as well. We casted YouTube to the TV and used the aux output from the TV to the speaker.

I'd say we're more picky than the average person, but the built-in echo effect was sufficient for us. I believe there's 3 levels of adjustment for that.

We found it sounded significantly better when "sound boost" was turned off for karaoke.

What microphone do you use?

Well, BT lag, correct? If you wired direct, you'd be fine. And at that point a pair is doable, yes?

I did say Anker speakers sound decent. You got what you pay for! In addition, people has different taste in music. Some people like Bose with less treble and more bass. But for me JBL sound the best in both world .

Here is a video comparing both speakers. Hear it for yourself with headphone on. The ankers lack of treble and sound muddy compared to Jbl.

https://youtu.be/1CQo4WE0wxU

Tell me what's you JBL speaker bought comparing to your Anker's speakers ?
I will say that my hearing isn't as great as most people's. I am most definitely not an audiophile and my speakers are in use while I am doing other things which require more focus. I have had the Anker SoundCore 2, JBL Charge 3, the original JBL clip or whatever it's called. My son has Anker earbuds and I have had some old wired JBL earbuds.

I don't have any use for a "party speaker" and my question was an honest one about why one would be better than the other. I forget that I don't hear the nuances others do. Honestly, to me, the all sound fine... I am sure that will incite some sort of riot and it is probably not the answer you sought.

Jbl focuses on music. Sony is just a massive brand that looks pretty.

Ok speaker, but I don't recommend it if you want it as a portable speaker. The ION used "Sealed Lead acid battery" which make it heavy and don't hold charge over time comparing to JBL 's Lithium Polymer batteries.I owned monster rocking roller 4 which similar with this ION with better sound. The monster speaker's lead acid battery died after one year of lightly used indoor. In addition, I did charge the lead acid battery full monthly to keep the battery last, but it didn't.Partybox 100 speaker is retail for $300+ for a reason. The Lithium Polymer batteries and build in light are costly to make. For $200 I think it is a great investment!

Oh no doubt the JBL will be a better overall speaker but for less than half the price, and knowing I bought it from Costco it's worth the trade off for me. I had a JBL charge 3 for a to while and it's a great little speaker, but I wanted something bigger, and the Pathfinder did the trick for less than it would have been to replace my JBL charge

We plugged in a wireless receiver into the mic input. It was a Shure mic, not sure exactly of which model since it was my friend's. I know it wasn't a SM58, BETA, or PG58. The mics did not have any effect adjustments. There are 3 echo adjustment levels on the speaker, although they're not noticeable unless you read the manual.

An aux cable was ran from the audio output of the TV into the aux input of the speaker. We casted YouTube from our phone to the TV.

As mentioned in my second post, I'd say we're more picky than the average person when it comes to this. Our home karaoke system all cost over a few thousands. We were very pleased with how it performed for it's price. Some people (including myself) were surprised at its price. Just remember to turn off bass boost because that made the biggest difference to us. With it on, it sounded very muddy.

My only other experience with a portable karaoke system would be the Bose S1 Pro. My brother has both, so I'm sure we'll listen to them again soon. The Bose's audio sounded clearer, but I though the vocals on the JBL sounded better. Regardless, there's nothing between the two to justify a $400 price difference. Maybe it's worth $200 more at most, and that's mainly due to Bose "premium" branding, if you believe that. I just couldn't believe something this small and (relatively) cheap could sound this good.

I actually picked one up last night. Now I'm looking at which mics to get. Not saying this is what I would get, but something like this would be the most portable / convenient. Mics can get expensive, but it feels kind of stupid to spend a lot of money on mics when the speaker was only $200.
