R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Just to let folks know, I was able to get a boost number to port within a few minutes from this seller on ebay, atlwireless . If you are looking for a number, I would try this seller.

Anyone know how quickly you can port out of cricket? I also ordered the Google Fi Pixel 4A 5G deal and need a number to port into there, figure I can use the same number I just ported into Cricket.

as soon as you activate the phone, downgrade it. should take only 2-3 minutes if you do this online or through your app.

with cricket, if you are doing 2 lines, they only let you put the account number for one of the lines. I guess they assume that the account numbers would be the same.

You have to contact customer service if your account numbers are different for each line.
