R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

The terms and conditions clearly say "and activate a $60 plan" there has been discussions on this thread that you can immediately change the $60 plan to $30 after activation and this will count. Also others have stated that either the sim or the number or the phone must be activated but not 100% sure which to avoid being charged full price $349 so an extra $300 for the phone.

Also for those keeping this phone Target has cricket airtime cards for BOGO 20% off and it stacks with RC.

I got boost number to transfer them received email saying need PIN to verify account, then transfer delay. Anyone got this problem and still got their orders?

Just activate the phone with its SIM card in it to have a better sleep. In the past, I did not bother activating anything, just moved on without

I don't know what you're trying to do. If you want to move your at&t number to this phone then you'll have to wait for 6 months and keep the account active until you can unlock it.

If you are trying to switch your carrier to cricket then may be you can port out your at&t number to another carrier first and then port it out again to cricket using this deal (in that case your number from ebay will be unused). I don't know what this involves and what the options are.

Once the the SIM is activated with eBay number, you can later on call customer service to change the number to your current AT&T number. They will ding you $15 for the number change.

I put 0000 and it worked! That was my question too, but I tried a luck and it worked
