R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

No. Free trial is once per account. That is the reason I created a new apple ID for when my current one expires.

I have ordered two new phones/lines from Cricket. How does cricket reach you to get the account/pin for the second line? I just entered the account/pin for the first line while placing the order. I hope they don't call one of the ported numbers, because I got them off ebay.
Can someone who did this deal already, shed some light on this? Thank you.

You should get an email asking you to enter the details on the second line. But if you don't want to wait, you can chat with customer support and let them know that you would like to provide porting details for line 2.

I just went through the steps and have an instant new number with Tello, but it's not accepted by Cricket when I type it in. Does it take a while for Cricket to recognise the number?
