Net10, assuming its like Tracfone since they're owned by the same company does not use last 15 of the SIM card like a lot of people have mentioned, at least in my experience. Last time I ported over 4 tracfone numbers to cricket, I had to call Tracfone 611 and ask them for it.
IMEI for a Verizon based SIM and the last 15 of the SIM for GSM based Net10.

So in my case I have not opened the iPhone 7 I got from Cricket from the previous deal. Instead I activated the sim in my old unlocked LG I had lying around. When I check how many days I have left to unlock it says 96 days. Hoping I am still able to unlock it at that point.
This is really interesting! Does this mean cricket just sees how long you have been a customer and doesn't care if you used the sim in the phone that came with it and doesn't care if you used that phone at all? Can you please explain the logic?

My referral code from 11-20 isn't working when I activated the new account today.
Getting:
Unfortunately your account is not eligible for the referral credit at this time.

Tried via website and app, both show same error.
So I mangled the new account setup somehow.
Similar situation here " Oops! Looks like we're having a problem with our system. Please try again later."
Perhaps the person who sent me the referral link on Friday already got their cricket account maxed out on referrals.

Question: So after my first 2 months run out, if I stop paying for the rest of the 6 months and just leave it, I won't be able to unlock after 6 months, correct? Thanks in advance!

Correct. Your line needs to be active.

I guess all they care is that you pay 6 months of service?

Anyone ever ported TFW (Net10, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, etc.) numbers before? Read online it says last 15 digit of the SIM card is your account number... and pin is the pin you set up during activation. Is that true? Thanks!

I ported from Tracfone. Used the IMEID of the iphone 6s plus i ordered for trading into pixel 4a 5g. not sure if it ported or not, but received the Iphone se from cricket. have not activated it yet.

Account: IMEID

Have you gone to your account on Tracfone? Apparently my Net10 account became deactivated after a few tries from Cricket... Not sure how that works out. We will see... My phone haven't shipped yet.

I'm an existing customer and got the iphone 7 from a similar deal a few months back as a new customer (under spouse name). Activated it and after 3+ months the account got closed automatically. After activation the phone remained unused. Recently took it out and used it for another existing line (cricket) and found it had only 72 days for the unlock. So what this could mean is, if you put a sim that's been active in cricket network for 180+ plus days, you might be able to unlock it. That's how I see it. Or may be my case was an exception.

As I've mentioned earlier, it typically allows unlock around 175 days, so only 5 months of paid service required.
Even if unlocks after 175 days, it requires 6 months paid service right since it is prepaid? 2 months initial $60 will cover. On 61st Day, 3rd month service (should be covered by referral + $5). On 91st Day, 4th month service. On 121st day, 5th month service. On 151st day, 6th month service.

Is this correct?

Well that's the thing is I don't what logic Cricket is using lol. That's why I figure I share my experience so far in this thread.

I always work a referral in, so it's 5mos + $5 for me typically. Yeah, a straight up account would require 6 full months of payment.
