R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.
As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.
I bought 2 already. total cost $196 for 2 phones. trade in value of SE at apple is $210

Wouldn't have Apple pay bypassed all the port section requirement or does it bring you to the port section?
Brings you to it. It would be nice if it bypassed the port selection.

ATTENTION EVERYBODY!!

I have apparently found a way with the address limitation of only two per household.

The first time I used my regular hand typed address. I subsequently tried to change my address various ways and it was always denied.

This time however I payed with APPLE PAY. It mimic'd my address as the exact same way as my first order. However on this order, it shockingly enough went through! Who knows, the may cancel it as it was ordered under the same email address as my past order and account. So we'll see. Just a heads up!

Oh and don't forget to wait on the cart page for the $20 coupon.
How are you paying with Apple Pay? Where is the option?

The wiki says we should not copy paste the account number into the porting field. I did that unfortunately, before seeing the wiki. Am I definitely going to get cancelled?

Apple Pay is only available when using Safari on a Mac or iOS device (iPhone, iPad, etc.).

It won't get cancelled... I copy and pasted my account number since it was an IMEI #. If there's any error, they'll send an email asking you to update the info.

Anyone on a "Simple Choice™ plans" with many lines that's porting out a line to cricket? Did it affect your simple choice plan at all?

For example, just only that line gets cancelled on Tmobile's side and your other lines on Tmobile remains the same?

That is correct based on my experience. did this back in April moved a line to visible was paying $10 for the line, the line ported and bill went down by $10.

No. I copy pasted the account number while ordering. My order went through, ported without issues, got the phone, activated without issues.

Can this phone be used as an mp3 player / camera without activating it? Can I bypass the activation protocol?

just an FYI, I was checking to see how much it will cost me to add a new line today and it says $10 owe today and $25 per month. My lines have always cost me $10 a month, don't know why the cost changed. April was the first and only time I moved a line out. Never moved a line in. Don't know if they are related but this is the first time after that port did I check how much it will cost to open a new line. Was checking to see if I would qualify for the free add a line that starts today 11/25 I think, and so far nope.

Just received my phones that I ordered. Is there going to be a problem if I just leave it in the box to trade or sell?

I received this email before a shipping confirmation was sent to me:

Line 1: XXXXXXXXX - Need More Information

Line 2: XXXXXXXXX - Need More Information

If you have any lines that show Need More Information, please select the button below and provide the required account information.
