R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

so because the service was "used" for a few days they'll refund you back for the entire month? A bit confused, thanks.
If they activated before or at shipment, then yes they were crediting a full month for the inconvenience. They expect that this is your primary number you are porting in and it's their mistake. It didn't happen to me this time on two SEs.

You can bump down to the $30/mo plan after you activate the phone/service. So your $60 becomes 2 mo of 2gb/mo plan.

I'm actually on cricket right now, burner number that i've kept for a few months for practically free using cash back deals from different cards.

What's the cheapest way/best/quickest way to port out and port back in? to take advantage of this deal.

Thanks.

Best to just keep it and order a number off eBay instead of porting in and out. If you have a Sprint sim card and phone laying around, go through Tello to create a new service line for $5.

Actually do have a sprint sim. Any additional tips. I know to refer myself via a new email/account.

Nope. Just create a service line from Tello using referral (you seem to know the drill..) to get $10 on your account. Use the newly created number and purchase the iPhone SE from Cricket for $90 + tax (at the cart wait up to 5 min for banner to take $20 off or go find a code buried in this thread).

Use referral code for Cricket Wireless if you plan on keeping the line active to unlock the iPhone or for personal use.

Your account. Not related to phone number since it's a family plan. It'll just go to your the account. Unless you ordered them separately meaning not a family plan, then you can get the $25 credit to each line

Tello? You don't have to use it at all. When I did it, I just created and paid for the service ($5) and entered the phone number, account number and pin (0000) at cricket to checkout within 30 minute of creating a new service line at Tello.
Thank you! Software issues- worked on different browser.

Thank you. The quote by Phobio says iPhone SE (2nd gen) 256GB but it never asked me about storage during the process. Is it a default wording or they actually expect only 256GB version to be traded in and this 64GB version is not qualified?
