R-SIM is a SIM card add-on that looks like a really thin SIM card that mounts on top of your nano sim (or below depending on the model) that allows you to bypass the sim lock by hard coding a new ICCID that is unlocked.

You can buy the R-SIMs off ebay/amazon and they are usually $10 give or take.

It works reasonably well and the wiki talks about how to operate it, the only challenge is sometimes iOS updates break it and sometimes you need a new ICCID but for the most part it's great and allows you to use a SIM locked phone with any provider. and in this case you dont have to wait 180 days with Cricket to get an unlock code.

Keep in mind it is unlike the factory unlocking process which is permanent. Here you are dependent always on the R-SIM.

back in the day it also went by the name Gevey SIM.

As long as you have an old Sprint SIM card laying around (they're reusable)... and an IMEI from a phone that's compatible with Sprint's network, you can sign up for the $5 service (data only) or if you want to play it safe... $6 service (500mb data, 100 min). Pay for service, enter in IMEI and SIM card info, activate. You'll have instant access to a new phone number, pin to access port out info.

Did anyone else get this error message after filling out Primary account # and then secondary Pin from a link in a follow up email?
If you ported two numbers, you will get this.
The first email is for the account number (more than likely for the 2nd line)
and once you update that, they will email you again for the PIN number of that account.

Thank you. The quote by Phobio says iPhone SE (2nd gen) 256GB but it never asked me about storage during the process. Is it a default wording or they actually expect only 256GB version to be traded in and this 64GB version is not qualified?
Doesn't matter default wording -- its the same value for any version of the phone

Same thing, contacted Phobio about before they said they it doesn't matter as long as it's the iPhone SE.

Thanks again. One last question. So I trade it in and don't use the sim card. The line will be canceled on its own at the end of the month or should I ask Cricket to cancel the line or account?

Activate the service and let it sit there to expire, nothing you really need to do. But if you want to help someone out, use a referral code so they get $25 for future renewal, downgrade your service to $30/mo so that it last 60 days and let the plan expires.

Thinking about doing this for 2 more phones but I need a referral first. Who's willing to help the needy again

Got the same email also. How they sent mine was the 1st email I had to put in the phone number then in about hour I got the 2nd email to put in my pin. Once you get those two emails it will say "All Set".

I got RSIM but it says No Sim. I ended up tearing it up in the middle, there are two chips for some reason. Anyone know why there are two chips that fold over the sim? Maybe I broke mine now that it's cut (chips are intact)

Yes you can. You technically don't have to activate it on the iPhone SE at all... Just go to cricket.com/activate and pop in your order number and port phone number, then your new sim is activated. The only reason why you might want to leave the sim in the iPhone SE is for unlock reason when you stay with cricket over 6 months.
I plan to give as Christmas gift. I also planned to just activate without opening the box. Do you know if I activate without putting the sim in the iphone, the unlock 6 month period won't start?

It won't start as it won't detect the device without the sim being in it...
