I've only used Apple computers in the past. Would this laptop be okay for downloading large movie files and doing video editing on?
No it cant handle video editing. Even the next step up i5 chokes. Get an AMD Ryzen 4800H with dedicated nvidia 2060 or better for good video editing.

I3 = shit = no buy. i5 is the bare minimum. 8 GB Ram can barely run 1 tab. Can't even enjoy 4k video on this. Still light years better than the best chromebook
How is this possible? I have a 6th gen i5 and 8gb ram laptop. It can do 30+ tabs on chrome.
What browser needs 8 gb for one tab?

I can't tell if you're serious or just being sarcastic here.

Repeat after me. It's $300. What $300 laptop has an >i3, >8GB RAM and can support 4K 60/120 FPS?

So is it confirmed, that a second Sata SSD can be installed to this laptop? does anyone have any details on the extra bracket and harddrive ribbon needed to do this?
I bought this laptop for my folks when it first dropped to 300. Seemed like a pretty good deal and I figured I could upgrade it easily enough. It seems to do fine on the 4GB soldered + 4GB stick in there. I decided to buy an 8GB stick to throw in anyways and it was easy enough to take apart and swap it out.

Regarding the extra HDD slot, you will need to purchase the ribbon cable. The bracket is already inside. I picked one up from Ebay for 30, but you can get it for cheaper if you want to wait. The ribbon part number I found was NBX0001S900. I just installed it for the previous laptop drive for more storage and it looks like there's no problems.

As people have already mentioned, you can switch it out of Windows 10 S mode to Home, but it seems like you have to have/register an email/(Microsoft) account when you're going through the process. I just made a throw away one for this.

Because it's got the full keyboard with 10key, I have a tendency to over reach for the backspace key and hit the num-lock key. I think it'll just take some getting use to laugh out loud

Cheers! And good luck! Smilie

I mean not exact model and less ram etc. But less than $400 for slightly better specs than this deal not out of the question imo.
But sort of apple vs orange comparison on this, cpu is diff, less ram also less ssd capacity , that's a lot of diff tho
