Does the trade in credit go back to your payment account or Fi account as credit?
If you finance it's credit

If the phone you buy is more than the trade in credit, whole trade in credit should go back to your payment method (assuming you paid fully for the new phone).
If not, it will credit the payment amount up to the new phone's price. Excess will be in Google Fi credit.

I am getting note 20 5G for $499 and I am getting $475 for trading my note 10+. So I am getting not 20 for $25 excluding taxes and plan charges.

Is my understanding correct? Am I missing something?

pretty much .. as long as you maintain active service for 90 days after activation.

Ordered one. I think it's the best deal on a Note 20 so far. They have only $150 for my Pixel 3AXL but I thought it's worth the upgrade.

Your note 10+ must be able to turns on, screen intact and factory reset.
Most importantly, $475 refund is an estimate.
If Google determined the phone is in lower condition, you must accept lower value.

They have the Galaxy S20 5G for $100 more. Does the S20 5G have any advantages over the Note20 5G? I'd prefer the smaller screen but other specs seem better on the Note20.

Small piece of advice - use a virtual account number. With Citi, refunds to the virtual cc go back to the main account for the trade in.

For the trade in - a cracked screen galaxy s8 on Ebay can be had for $55-75 and trades in for 320.

My order is $530 (with tax) - $320 trade in + $70 (S8 broken) = $280.

Sell your working phone separately rather than trade it in.
Could you elaborate? I mean whats the major benifit of using a virtual cc?

Nothing can be charged back to it once it expires. Phone is set to arrive Dec 2-4 it seems. I have 30 days to activate. If google somehow determines I didnt meet the terms there is no active cc to charge back the $500 discount.

Also, no extra google fi charges.

I must have missed something obvious, but where does everyone get info about the trade in? I don't see it anywhere.

Careful/I've rechecked with google rep/chat and been told I have to use google FI sim in the purchased phone for 90 days to receive the credit.
Sadly means cant get this deal even though I actually have use for a google Fi line for 3 months, but I'd need to use note20 on my main number which is with T-mo
Thanks for letting me know, my mistake

Few useful information-
1. Checked with Rep, google voice will work fine for this promo.
2. You can use PayPal and get 5 percent off with chase.
3. If ordered with other payment, can cancel and reorder using PayPal. Risk is that model or color might not be available.
