But.... they aren't good for a room with a wide variety of seating positions (because every seat gets a different experience).
And for me personally, my wife wouldn't let electrostatics into the living room.... and i know it's the same for a lot of other audiophiles who have partners.

I don't agree about the difficulty in their placement. The only item to watch out for is the distance to the wall behind the speaker as electrostatics fire both to the front and to the rear. If there is a "downside", for the lack of a better term, is that they require a lot of power.
That being said. I've heard nothing but good things about the speakers on this thread.

I think the only online retailer that makes speaker returns easy is Crutchfield. But sadly, their current sale price on the 60XTI is not as low as Best Buy and Amazon.
