Note this is the SB-2000, not the "pro", meaning it doesn't have the newer amp, driver, and phone control DSP. Still a great deal, just don't get the two confused.

I have had both the pb-2000 and the pc-2000 in my home to try out yearss go. I can recommend the pb-2000 at this price point without any apprehensions. It's a solid sub at this price point, goes low and has a quality amp with great warranty and Customer service. The pc-2000 I would not recommend unless you have a space constraint situation. It's just not as good as the pb-2000 in overall impact due to it's smaller overall volume. Running a high quality spl meter on both of them with the same output levels being used, same source material, the pb-2000 was always 2-3 db higher and it always hit lower. Just for reference, I am currently using a Pc-13 ultra 1000 watt RMS & it is outstanding by every measure (of course, it is in a much diff league then the pb-2000/Pc-2000)!

Depends on your appetite for bass and shaking the place.

A friend of mine is perfectly happy with one PB-2000.

Any feedback would appreciated, SB 2000 or Kef R400?

I just orders 2 pb2000. Thanks to some recommendations in here. 7.2
You'll love it. I always doubted having 2 subs, but after running the calibration software... I can see how it is better.

I have 2 PB1000's and my neighbors don't like me Smilie..... The thumpness and rolling thunder during action movies can be felt 2 houses down and it's just quarter turn on the knob. I'd recommend try one and then upgrade to second AS/IF needed. One thing I dislike about ported is that they're BIG. It definitely takes away from aesthetics of the tower speakers if they're next to it. If you have huge space and can put them in corners, that would solve the issue with their size. I do miss velodyne for its size but the cost is twice if not 3 times as much.

pb1000
Overall Dimensions: 18.9" (H) x 15" (W) x 20" (D) (with grille).

pb2000
Overall Dimensions: 20.9" (H) x 17.3" (W) x 25.4" (D) (with grille).

These are very large. Just be prepared to say WTF when you first see them.

I'm also pondering the RSL Speedwoofer vs the SB-2000. If I don't intend to turn up the bass to house-shaking levels (party walls), does lower extension at louder sound levels really matter? Interested in tighter, smooth bass over my current Dayton 1200 for mostly TV. Living room open to kitchen (about 500 sq feet).

Hearing started to go due to work and having conf calls all day long Smilie...I don't crank up the volume, it just these ported are very powerful even on low volume so you really have to play with power and frequencies to match your mains.

Trust me , please stay away from the 10" models, they are so/so and for slightly more you can get the pb-2000 which is so much better and hits so much lower. there is only so much a 10" driver can do....
Thanks. Went with SB-2000

How does the SB-2000 compare to the RSL Speedwoofer 10S? At the current $499.99 deal, it's $100 more than the RSL.
I was going to pick up a Sb- 1000 if it went on sale for $449, so the Sb- 20000 at $499 is an excellent deal.

I would jump all over this and get 2 PB 2000s if I didnt already have 2 PB 12s from previous BF sales...$100 more to go from the 12s to 2000s is pretty decent...

This is what I've been waiting for!

Reading some of the comments here, I'm wondering if I should have gone for two PB2000s 😂

Solid deals for sure. I ran a PC12-NSD (comparable to the PC2000) by itself for years and was content for the most part. That same sub is now stuffed in a corner nearfield to my seating and 3 18s (1 HT18 and 2 PN470s) handle the LFE. Have 2 UM18s that I need to build nearfield enclosures for. All ran off if 2 iNuke 6000s with a MiniDSP in the chain. Quality bass is an absolute addiction.
