Does the device has to be out of TMo network or can I use my current TMo device as BYOD?

Does it have to be an unlocked device. What if I have a tmobile device that is still locked, will that work.

Do we need to ask Costco to process the add a line as a free line or is there any reason why they could refuse to add a line as a free line to give the $200 Shop card?

No. Check the details of the new free line offer which begins tomorrow. This new free line offer is different than the previous ones, the term says you can't stack the free line with any other device promo and if you did so, the free line promo will be removed and you end up getting the device promo and pay the line.
That offer doesn't require adding a line though. According to the thread here at SD, it would stack:

https://slickdeals.net/f/14604172-existing-t-mobile-customers-free-line-returns-11-25-plus-port-ins-get-100-rebate?v=1

The OP says:

"It will stack with other phone promotions not listed in the ineligible list like the free/half off pixel promo."

So I *think* they're saying that the free line deal will stack with the Pixel deal. I'm obviously not sure, which is why I'm asking here. Seems too good to be true to essentially walk out of Costco with a free $200 GC and then also get a great trade-in deal on the phone.

Then the question is you can get $200 and the free line from costco, why bother to port in a number & get only $100 from tmobile. The only reason I know is for someone without access to costco...
There going to get both $200 for add a line(free line) and $100 for porting in a line so total would be $300

I like to port 4 numbers from ATT on a family plan. So I will get 200x4=800 Costco card.
Can I still add iphone 12 promo.
I want to go magenta plus so that will be $140 monthly for 4 lines.
If the iphone promo doesn't require an add a line then yes you should be able but if it says when you add a line then NO

When they say allow 14 weeks for processing, they really mean it. It took over 3 months earlier this year get the Costco shop cards. The process was easy and straighforward, but it took a long time for processing and receiving.

I would also like to know the same for $200 byod promo.

Can I just go to Costco & add a line?

OR do I also need to provide them a phone/imei to be eligible for this offer? Is there a list of eligible phones?
