Just got back - took like 45 mins - was 2nd in line - first in line was just asking about existing promos -
because rep wanted to call T-Mobile to make sure it's free. That took a while... Plus agent is new so need constant help from better knowledge rep. Funny thing is, after me, everyone came in just to add a line and Costco agent no longer need to call T-Mobile to verify. So their is much faster ....
I have T-Mobile ONE - and this is my 12th line.
I just hope the new agent enter the correct info on the rebate. One line says "activated permanent phone #" but he entered my main account existing tel#..... not the newly activated number.

You will lose your kickback promo if you add a line. Everytime you add a line / cancel a line Tmobile takes you out of a grandfathered plan and puts you on the latest plan. Happened to me.
This is not true. I've done every free line promo this year and haven't lost any of my credits or my plan. I have T mobile one plan with Netflix. with the 2018 on us line ...the 2019 add a line get a line from Valentine's Day...and the two free lines this year. All my "old" lines still have kickback too.
I did one new line at a store and one using tforce. No issues.
Do they charge the 30 for the additional line first? Then it is free from T-Mobile side?
It'll seem like you'll be charged with whatever your additional line cost is ($20 or $30 per month). But it'll be free in T-Mobile's system as long as your plan qualifies.
Then went to Costco (when it just opened, so was first in line.) The guy was sort of new and wasn't familiar with the "add a line free" deal. No biggie - I just asked him to add a BYOD line anyways to take advantage of the $200 shop card. Probably took about 30 mins since he had to get his manager to help enter it in.
When I got back home, I called T-mobile CS and they were able to confirm this newly added line is free.
Weighing whether it's worth the trouble to try for the $100 port-in rebate. Anyways, at least the $200 was fairly easy.
Can someone confirm that these are the steps to use to get the $200 with the free line -
1 - Go to Costco with an unlocked phone.
2 - Ask the rep to activate it.
3 - While at Costco call Tmobile and get the free line activated.
4 - Give the info about the free line you just got to the Costco rep.
5 Then you get the 200 from Costco - in a gift card - sent in a couple of weeks.
Just goto Costco and have them add a line. No need to mention ' this is a free line ' since that'll likely throw them off.
As long as your plan qualifies, you havent cancelled a line in the last 90 days, and have 2 post paid lines active... this line from Costco will get registered as ' This one on us'
Done!

I bought used phones and they are lost in the mail. I can't get the IMEIs yet. Can I walk in with a unlocked wiped simless current phone and get the deal?
(I don't care which sim is in which phone while I wait for $200)
TIA
