Im in costco and got my free line added.. on the system it added 25$ but the agent said it will come off in the billing cycle.. i called tmobile and they confirmed.. also port in from google voice worked like a charm..
I went to Costco. They got the flexpay error and had to call T-Mobile. Hold time was about 20 minutes and then both the T-Mobile and Costco reps were pretty slow so I was there for 45 minutes probably. In the end T-Mobile added the line (and the rep on the phone confirmed it was free) and Costco provided the rebate paperwork. I made a few texts and calls on my ancient HTC One S and came home and submitted the rebate.
The One S was used years ago, but hasn't been on the account for a long time. I presume that will qualify as a BYOD phone?
Does the SIM need to be in the BYOD device for a certain period to get the rebate or can I use it on another device during while waiting for the rebate to process?
When I did it before, it didn't matter what device and was based on the phone number. As long as the line was still on my T-Mobile account when they processed the rebate.

I also went to Costco this morning. 2nd in line (the first person was also adding a line on T-mobile). Said I wanted to add a line on T-Mobile for the $200 Costco card. I did not mention the FREE T-Mobile line at all.
Rep asked me to log into terminal with my SSN and Last Name. Once my account was found, Rep asked for the IMEI of the phone I was going to use and area code I wanted for my new phone number.
About 10 mins later scanned my Costco card and gave me SIM card. Had me sign a few forms, gave me Costco $200 card submission paper work and off I went.
Got home and installed SIM card in the phone. A few mins later I got a welcome text from T-mobile. Checked my account online and FREE line was showing up on my account - 2020 Line on Us 3 (Additional Lines).
Already submitted paper work for $200 card.
Where do you check online to see the new free line on us promo has been applied?
so just got back from Costco, they added the line to the account and I'm on the Tmobile account page now, I see the new line and it says 0.00 but I don't see the new 2020 Line On Us 3 discount... I see some others already have that new discount showing... should I be worried?

yep, I don't have the 2020 Line On Us 3 discount listed there but the new line is showing as 0.00 and my bill didn't go up... I have the older/previous Line On Us discounts listed there
SO....I just got back from Costco. I'm on Simple Choice (SCFUTT4) so I know I qualify for the free line on us. When the rep tried to add it to my account he's stuck on the Data Addon page, the only choices are those paid added ons ($15 6GB etc). My plan's included 4GB data is not an option. To get it moving he has to put me on that $15 add on. Now I have to call TM to get that fixed. He said because it's a grandfathered plan the 4GB promo option is not available to him. He seems to know what he's doing and is actually there training a couple new reps. Anyone with SC plan run into similar issue?
BTW when I checked my account I can already see the "$10 2020 Line on Us 3" as an account level promo, so no issue getting it for free even without mentioning it to the Costco rep.
