You do not need to tell the costco rep about a free line. If your account is eligible it will automatically convert. Not telling them is better in case you run into a rep that doesn't want you to stack promos. The rep I worked with didn't indicate he knew about the free line, the paperwork said I'd pay $40, but my account on t-mo side says it's free.
Do we need to tell costco rep to add as free line?
No. You must first confirm that your plan is eligible for the free line. Then just add a line at Costco (or anywhere else). They have no way of adding a "free" line; they just add a line. Whether it's free or not happens automatically in Tmobile's system. Telling them to add as a free line just confuses the issue.
Dang, I got the same error, called T-Mo, and both the rep and Costco employee said there was nothing they could do. Congrats for making it work.
I've been through that last year. My nearest Costco claimed there was nothing they can do. I went to a different Costco and the guy immediately knew what to do and took care of it. Yesterday, I was back at the first Costco and they did it.
If you have another Costco nearby, try that or maybe try a different rep at your local one.

Got it.. do we need to call t-mobile to make sure it's free line?
neither the printed sheets or the online forms tells you to submit the number associated with the promo, whether that be the port-in line or original activated line.
it simply asks for a permanent wireless number, after asking all your other contact info. its asking for a contact number.
I don't know what you're talking about. Just do NOT submit the rebate using the number that will be ported out/replaced because when the rebate is processed later, the rebate checker will not be able to find the number that is ported out/replaced on your account and so, will not be able to verify your new line.

Read the printed sheets or load the web page with the form. No where does it ask or tell you to enter the phone number of the line we activated at Costco, permanent, temporary, whatever.
It only asks for a permanent wireless number beneath where it asks you for your contact info.
Does anyone know if this promotion will be valid tomorrow (Black Friday) as well or it has already expired? Also, what are the eligible SOC codes for a free line. When I am clicking on the image link on my computers or phones are not allowing me to open it.

i have concluded that the employees at the costco near my work never know what they're doing when the flexpay issue comes up. They have failed me twice lol

I thought it ended 11/25 but I saw on Reddit someone showed the rebate paperwork that showed it'll go until 12/3
I just got done adding the free line at Costco with the $200 GC. Took 5 minutes. They gave me a new sim card at no cost to use with an existing phone and I walked out the door without any money changing hands. Super simple!
Did you have to have the device with you? Or they just gave you sim
Does anyone know if we buy phone directly from apple , select tmobile as a career for the trade in rebate of 150 but choose not to activate and get line at costco ? There is another promo for tmobile 150 trade in on apple site and so checking if can be clubbed

And, if we put the sims to use in a different phone that has a different IMEI than when signed up, will it invalid the Costco rebate?
